OG core trio sign new contracts

Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen, Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså, and Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski have renewed their contracts with the organization until the end of 2022.

OG have announced that they have renewed contracts with three of their players, Aleksib, valde, and mantuu. The move signifies the organization's commitment to the core of their roster, whom they call the "Big Three", following recent changes to the team that had remained intact for over a year.

"I'm happy to announce that I'll be extending my contract with OG until the end of 2022," Aleksib said in a statement. "I believe that the current project has all the right pieces to reach new heights, and it's up to us to put in the work and show it."

OG commit to the original core

The trio has been a part of OG since the organization entered CS:GO in late 2019 with a then-brand-new international squad. The original roster reached their peak sixth ranking in November and remained the same until February, when a series of poor results and in-game differences caused the team to bench Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt and bring in Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen.

Issa "ISSAA" Murad followed the Frenchman to the bench only a few weeks later, with OG acquiring 17-year-old up-and-coming star Shahar "flameZ" Shushan from Endpoint to fill the void. The European side has since shown good promise with a win over Astralis and a close affair with G2 in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, while flameZ put up an impressive individual showing with a 1.24 average rating over five maps.

OG's next appearance will be in the first European Regional Major Ranking tournament of 2021, Flashpoint 3, which will run from May 10-30. The event will feature the brunt of the region's best teams, including Astralis, Heroic, and Vitality, among others.

2021-04-19 23:14
Yeah, such a great idea! Let's get Allu in OG to ruin another team once again! You can't even compare Allu and Aleksi. The other one is obviously a mastermind and the other one is whatever.

Well. First off I am a fan of ISSA and him getting replaced was pretty sad to me. I really wanted them to give Issa a chance on LAN first but, they just aren't coming back yet. Wasn't a big fan of NBK's inclusion and was always up for his head when OG lacked firepower first but in time x he grew up on me in the roster and was actually doing his job pretty well so to see him leaving wasn't great either. To add on that, their replacements don't seem a big improvement to me either. Flamez has been great in 2 games he played but I just don't think they would still be winning titles or contesting for them with these guys. My love and support for Valde and AleksiBob would still be there, and I hope they find success!

Oh man, I feel ya. Kinda have the same thoughts about OG. I hope ISSA gets a new team where he can shine as he should.

i too hope so man , but sadly it doesnt seem to be the case. Being region locked in Jordan is always gonna put him into disadvantage against other teams and players with 3 digit ping so no team would be willing to get him cause of that and he might have to take the Valorant way. I would really be sad if that were to happen.

ISSAA's Tier 3 game sense can not be explained by the ping unless the ping is connected to ISSAA's neutrons and synapses.

2021-04-19 21:39
you cant have tier3 game sense and play in tier1 competition but ok
2021-04-19 22:14
Flamezs with around the same ping in the Israel still performs better than ISSAA tho.

The first to be signed were Aleksi, Valde and NBK, they started the "project". After that, NBK picked mantuu.

Core = most important pieces, the structure Core is related to in-game stuff which means that it doesn't matter what was the order each player got signed. There's a reason why NBK got kicked first.
2021-04-19 16:39

I'm pretty sure core refers to the main players where the team gets built around. And the original was NBK Valde and Aleksi, the team was built around these three. It's questionable to think as certain roles being more important without entering blurry areas. What is the core of Astralis? Gla1ve, Device and Magisk? I don't think so.
2021-04-20 03:27
IGL, star and a support? I aren't think that
2021-04-19 15:59

Historically it is the core. NBK was the one who looked for mantuu in attax.
