motm leaves High Coast

The 21-year-old had joined the team on trial only one month ago.

Ian "motm" Hardy has parted ways with High Coast and announced that he is now a free agent, bringing about an end to a one-month spell with the Ben "ben1337" Smith-led side.

The former Cloud9 entry-fragger began playing with High Coast at the start of March following his benching from Extra Salt but was only officially announced as a trial member towards the end of the month.

During his tenure as a part of the Swedish organisation, motm averaged a 1.12 rating, but the team as a whole continued to play second fiddle to Extra Salt and Bad News Bears. The former emerged as the victors in qualifiers for European events, while the latter recently qualified for ESL Pro League by winning ESEA Premier Season 36.

motm is no longer a part of High Coast

"Our situation is really complicated right now and I'm scrambling to figure things out before the roster deadline for the next season," High Coast coach Joseph "Muenster" Lima explained when contacted by HLTV.org. "Honestly, I'm really unsure about what's going to happen and where things are going to go from here.

"Everyone is free to explore other opportunities if they chose which is what Ian is doing and I wish him luck in his search. He was a great teammate and amazing player and would be a great addition to any roster."

High Coast are not among the teams signed up to compete in the first cs_summit 8 qualifier, set to play out from May 1-2. With the start of the next ESEA Premier season also nearing, ben1337's side will need to resolve their roster uncertainty in short order.

With motm's departure, High Coast have:

United States Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue
United States Ben "ben1337" Smith
United States Brandon "bew" Roberts (loan)
Brazil Rodrigo "RCF" Figueiredo (loan)

United States Joseph "Muenster" Lima (coach)

i think many NA players that quit CSGO to play Valorant doesnt like that game. But they had no other options

They had plenty of options. They could stay and actually try to develop the scene or pussy out and go to another game. Their choice, their hole, they dug it, they can lay in it.

Not really. That ain't irl full time job mens)) (although , its hard to find even a normal job nowadays) but playing video games for a living. Orgs nowadays with all the bs going on such as lockdowns and whatnot are not willing to invest in no name teams.

Expected tbh, RCF is next. Too much talent to waste. Also, Ian won't switch for Valorant, at least not for now. Probably will end up only streaming for a while.
2021-04-25 03:50
Why though? lol. Literally a decent team for him, lol. So he is either: 1) Switching to Valorant Or 2) Dont know what he is doing and will end up on some T4 NA team and ruin his career. EG, Liquid, Triumph, BNB etc wont sign him tbh.

Well I feel like he can be a world class player, I think he will get an opportunity to play in some bigger team, I think he deserves it, he looked really insane lately. However I'm surprised that he left High Coast, I felt like this roster had great future with him. Anyway GL motm.
