GamerLegion complete roster with isak

The team returns to a Swedish core with the addition of the former Lilmix player.

GamerLegion have announced the signing of Isak "⁠isak⁠" Fahlén. With the 19-year-old Swede's addition, the European roster is once again complete after undergoing an overhaul with the benchings of Adam "⁠Adam9130⁠" Ahmad and William "⁠dobbo⁠" Dobson in mid-April.

After the team revealed Mihai "⁠iM⁠" Ivan as one of the replacements for the British duo earlier this month, isak comes in as the last piece of the new lineup, which sees GamerLegion return to a Swedish-majority squad for the first time since they parted ways with their previous team around Hampus "⁠hampus⁠" Poser in March 2020.

The organization has stressed that it will remain international going forward. "Finalizing the roster with isak, we found the missing piece," GamerLegion manager, Igor Bornebusch, has stated. "With him joining us, we are stepping back into the Nordic region while staying international. GL will stay international, Coach Ash, iM & Zero are crucial parts of our plannings for the future."

isak is mainly known for his time with Lilmix, where he plied his trade for the past six months, helping them reach their peak 39th ranking in January and most recently advance to the Flashpoint 3 closed qualifier.

The 19-year-old has already played his unofficial debut with GamerLegion in the last open qualifier for the RMR tournament, in which the team ended up missing out on a spot in the closed stage after a loss to SKADE in the deciding round. His first official outing with the new team should come in the upcoming 37th season of ESEA Premier, where the international side will be one of the underdogs as the second-lowest ranked team in attendance.

1st off - Lilmix is an orgless roster with very small salaries - IIRC their salaries comes from one or few sponsors, and they would most likely earn more by working for those sponsors. 2ndly - he was released from Lilmix first, and their statement said they had a new player on the way to the team, but couldn't tell who yet! So the timeline was that he was released from Lilmix while GamerLegion looked for a 5th, Eraa and Isak have played together before and they wanted to go for at least one Flashpoint Open Qualifier. He performed quite well and they lost in the last series to SKADE who lost 2-1 to Sprout (last map close, both first bangers), won against GamerAgents and lost 2 close maps against Endpoint. So apparently the performance in this sole event was enough for him to land a contract

That wasn't the premise - he played with them as a stand-in - just because the org and the players wanted to play Flashpoint 3 quals, and he was quick to get into the event At that point, they didn't really plan on signing him, since they wanna stay international (as mentioned by the CSGO Manager). But they were so happy with the performance and role distribution, they signed him. So during Flashpoint it wasn't him going there, but him standing in just so they could play the qualifier. If he was bad, but they would qualify, they might have gone for another player.

Agreed, Eraa is really good and are putting up the same numbers as Nawwk did in GL. Nawwk will hopefully find something better.

isak was the worst player in lilmix which is a worse team. I can't understand this choice

I do watch the games. I watch a bunch of different teams. I know Quix is the IGL. But just because you are the IGL it does not mean that you cant frag, lol. Isak was not the worst player on Lilmix.

The team is dead. Why do they try anymore

They have sold Nawwk, Hampus and Mezii recently Seems like they know how to get decent young players, develop them, and sell them up the tier. when players don't develop quick enough, your investment is quite low, so it isn't too expensive to cut them. Seems like a reasonable way to approach T2 CS
