ViCi beat TYLOO to win Perfect World League Season 1

It's all square at the top of the RMR standings following the first of three qualifying events.

ViCi won the Perfect World League Season 1, the first Regional Major Ranking (RMR) tournament of the year in Asia, on Monday following a 3-1 victory over TYLOO. With this victory, Zhuo "advent" Liang's side are now joint leaders in the Asian RMR table with TYLOO, who retained 100 points after topping the standings in 2020.

TYLOO went into the best-of-five grand final with confidence high after a fairly routine journey through the first two stages that included a 2-1 victory over their Chinese rival. But ViCi gave a much better account of themselves in this keenly-contested rematch, staking their claim as the number-one team in Asia after missing the two FunSpark ULTI Asia tournaments that were held last month, both of which were won by TYLOO.

ViCi won the first Asian RMR event of 2021

ViCi made a dominant start to the match and put themselves in a winning position thanks to great individual performances by Andrew "Kaze" Khong and Yi "JamYoung" Yang on Overpass and Mirage, respectively. TYLOO bounced back with a close victory on Inferno, but their comeback attempt was derailed in a messy Vertigo game after a late JamYoung 1v4 clutch swung the tide back ViCi's way.

The victory comes as a huge morale boost for ViCi, who are slated to compete in the IEM One Cologne Play-In Stage, scheduled for July 6-7. As for TYLOO, they will now turn their attention to the ProHouse Wuxi Villa Cup Season 2, a six-team LAN event that will be held from May 5-8 in Wuxi with over $30,000 on offer.

That's just where all the best chinese players end up. I was hoping that NG could challenge things in asia, but they choked in the closed qualifier. Probably still working on communication

Let's go! Expected victory. Vici struggled in last 2 games cause Kaze was having a hard time, no way he was gonna underperform for 3 games in a row. Really wish they do well in EU when they get there, Jamyoung and Kaze deserve better.
