Astralis send OG to Flashpoint 3 lower bracket

Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's team will have no room for mistakes after succumbing to the Danish side in the opening match.

Astralis secured a 2-0 victory over OG to close out the first day of Flashpoint 3, the European Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event. In a rematch of the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown gameAstralis' last one with Nicolai "device" Reedtz — the Danes got their revenge and advanced in the upper bracket.

Inferno was a 41-round thriller that went Astralis' way despite the best efforts of Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen and Shahar "flameZ" Shushan, while an impressive display from Astralis on Nuke finished things off in two.

"Great start to the tournament once again, let's keep going this time," Astralis' captain Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander wrote on Twitter after putting up a 1.23 rating for the series, proving pivotal to the victory alongside Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth. On the other hand, OG's star duo Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski and Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså struggled to live up to expectations in the series and will be hoping they can make a deep run through the lower bracket of the 16-team event - where they face off against Vitality first.

gla1ve was leading by example against OG

A second-round force-buy win set up OG for a 4-1 lead on the T side of their map pick, Inferno, but Astralis came back into it with lockdown defenses to bounce back to a strong 10-5 half time score. The Danes extended to 12-5 before valde's Deagle triple kill changed the tides of the game, starting the comeback for OG. They eventually forced overtime with niko being the hero, but after two sets of added rounds it was Astralis that came out on top with strong play from Xyp9x and gla1ve.

Astralis showed some vintage form on Nuke as they powered on the offensive side to grab an 8-1 lead in no time. The struggles of OG were brought to an end thanks to flameZ' ramp lockdown in 3v5, inspiring his team to claw the scoreline back to 9-6 for the half. Unfortunately, there was little to see from OG in the second part of the map. Their pistol win was countered by Astralis' force, leading to a comfortable closeout, 16-11.

I heard he moves his mouse so, that the center of the screen is directed towards the avatar of an enemy player. Then he clicks the left mouse button. There are some assistive lines nearby the center of the screen that can be used as reference.

Valde had a pretty bad game but Dupreeh with awp isnt helping at all , look at his rating from 1.07! Mantu has days where he goes into worse form and only makes impactless kills. Xyp had a really great performance! Overall , they did well but Inferno could have been closed earlier.

i would love to see it happen but i honestly doubt it does , he is still gonna need a lot of time to adjust with the awp and even then there is no one who can compete Device`s positioning so he cant replicate that awp impact either. I think it would be better if they only keep him on awp on CT sides only.

It makes sense, though - they are adjusting to a new player and at the same time, dupreeh is getting familiar with his AWP role.

Dupreeh is good and all but he's no device. Gla1ve and Zonic have been trying a more agressive style and so far it's working somewhat decently... let's see how far it takes them.

Well Astralis still lacks the AWPer but still good win for the boys. OG is a really strong team, I'm surprised they couldn't win this game, but I think they will bounce back in the liower bracket.
