Elmapuddy, Cloud9 part ways

The 25-year-old is open to opportunities in both CS:GO and VALORANT.

Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbit is no longer contracted to Cloud9 and is free to explore his options, it has been announced. The Australian coach arrived on Cloud9 in January following the departure of Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović but was only part of the lineup for two months before the organisation put their Counter-Strike division on hold and made all players available for transfer.

Cloud9 are now left with only Patrick "es3tag" Hansen still under contract following the lateral move of Erick "Xeppaa" Bach and Ricky "floppy" Kemery to the organisation's VALORANT division, and the release of their remaining members.

Elmapuddy's time with Cloud9 has come to an end

The departure of the 25-year-old Australian marks the end of his second tenure with Cloud9, having previously spent a short period with the organisation's previous squad, led by Damian "daps" Steele, before their move to Gen.G.

Despite finding limited success with Cloud9's European project, Elmapuddy previously coached Gen.G to a win at DreamHack Open Anaheim, one of the last notable LAN events to take place, as well as a first-place finish in the first North American Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event of 2020, ESL One: Road to Rio.

He's definitely going there but I doubt soon. Remember when they signed him last time? They waited out the 2 months he was still under heroic contact to avoid buyout price. Obviously they won't want to wait over 12 months for his 2 yr contract to be up but I'd guess that there are provisions in the contract to allow team/player opt out if certain metrics aren't met (I.e. Not playing an official match for 3 months)

Yeah, i just saw it, seems good but I mean coaching is not only anti-starting or bringing tactical stuff to the team. Example Ynk, Moses :) they failed both

Two different kind of coaches, but c9 prob needed the other type

Yeah, they need a coach that can unite the players not bringing tactical stuff to the table and then lacking internal comms and respect to each other.

"WHO THE F**K IS THAT GUY?"
2021-05-11 04:38
Honestly I always felt just based on his youtube videos this guys best position is within a well financed org as an analyst rather then a coach. Basing this purely off his YT videos. However to be fair to him it's basically impossible for any of us without inside access to asses whether a coach is good or not. Adren has a reputation on this site as not being good despite winning an amount of titles almost any coach on any Tier 1 roster would kill to win. Who really knows how much influence or how much of a leadership role any of these dudes actually has. I'd go as far as saying Zonic is the only coach I know to be good and that's just because the results are so stellar you simply cannot deny them. Maybe Zews as well. Not saying there aren't good coaches maybe even lots just saying it's really hard to judge as a fan.
