Shakezullah replaces alter on Bad News Bears

After standing in for the team in the recent ESEA Spring Cash Cup, the former Triumph in-game leader has officially joined the roster.

Bad News Bears have announced that they have recruited former Singularity and Triumph member Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman, and simultaneously moved Nick "alter" Jackson to the bench, bringing about an end to his five months as a part of their active roster.

The 23-year-old in-game leader's arrival is a valuable addition to the Bad News Bears lineup, providing additional structure and freeing up Peter "ptr" Gurney from leadership duties. For Shakezullah, the move marks the chance to work with two of North America's most promising upcoming talents, Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and Michael "Swisher" Schmid, and reunites him with his former Triumph teammate Gabe "Spongey" Greiner.

Shakezullah will take up leadership duties on Bad News Bears

alter averaged a team-low 1.04 rating during his time on Bad News Bears, but he played a key part in the roster finding success following its formation in January. Notably, the team qualified for ESL Pro League Season 14 by winning ESEA Premier and won a number of ESEA Cash Cups, results that earned them qualification for the IEM Cologne Play-In via the ESL World Ranking.

More recently, Bad News Bears were eliminated from cs_summit 8 in 7-8th place after falling in narrow fashion to Liquid and EXTREMUM, earning 950 Regional Major Ranking points in the process.

Shakezullah made his first appearance for the lineup shortly after their elimination from the RMR event, playing in ESEA Spring Cash Cup 6, in which they made it to the grand final before falling to GODSENT.

"I'm extremely excited to be joining Bad News Bears," Shakezullah said in a statement to HLTV.org. "They have had tremendous success thus far, and I hope we are able to reach new heights together. Practices have been smooth, and we have a ton of work to do before the Cologne Play-In, as well as EPL. I am ready to get to work though and look forward to what the future will bring."

With Bad News Bears having no events lined up until the IEM Cologne Play-In, which will kick off on July 6, they will have plenty of time to practice with their new fifth player.

Bad News Bears are now:

Canada Jonathan "Jonji" Carey

No, they should replace Shakezullah with leaf and Xeppaa
2021-06-01 21:16
That's actually really interesting, from what I've seen so far in this first cash cup they played, they lacked someone more aggresive I would say, like Jonji is insanely aggresive, one of the most aggresive players in the world, but others are actually quite passive players, and I don't know how it will work out, we will see. GL Guys.
