European Development Championship Season 4 teams revealed
The fourth season of the European Development Championship is set to kick off on June 9 and will run through June 27, with $30,000 in prizes to be fought over by sixteen teams.
The 11-day group stage will have the 16 teams divided into four GSL groups, playing opening best-of-one matches followed by best-of-three series. Half of the teams will then reach the single-elimination playoff bracket, which will take place on June 24-27.
The European Development Championship was preceded by a series of qualifying tournaments that gave four teams berths at the event. Fiend and ex-Marlian earned their spots from the wildcard stage, while Izako Boars secured their spot through ESPORT NOW Cup and EC Brugge through Elite Series Spring.
The reigning champions from Season 3, SKADE, will be back in contention to defend their title against the aforementioned teams and other notable squads that have been handed invites, including Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov’s Entropiq, DBL PONEY, Sangal, HYENAS, SINNERS, and the much talked about Akuma, who have been at the center of recent cheating accusations.
