IEM Summer reaches playoffs

The tournament will resume on Friday with the quarter-final matchups.

The playoffs bracket at IEM Summer has been set following the conclusion of the group stage on Sunday, which saw G2 and OG secure spots in the semi-finals after beating Vitality and Evil Geniuses, respectively, and Virtus.pro lock down the final slot in the bracket stage.

The six playoffs teams will have the next four to five days to prepare for the next stage, kicking off on Friday with the quarter-final matchups. The opening round will pit Gambit up against Evil Geniuses after the latter made a surprise run in Group B's upper bracket, while Group A's second-placed team Vitality will take on Virtus.pro with hopes of making their first deep run with newest addition Jayson "Kyojin" Nguyen Van.

EG will make their first playoffs appearance with oBo and MICHU on Friday

G2 and OG set their sights on their first big event victory with the current rosters as they await their opponents in the semi-finals after coming out on top of their groups. The French-Balkan side are set to lock horns with the winner of Gambit-Evil Geniuses, while Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's team are locked in a collision course with either Vitality or Virtus.pro.

Below you can find the complete schedule of the IEM Summer playoffs bracket:

Gambit's cs has seem a bit messy this tournament(I think they are tired from playing too many). EG looking like a dark horse. Nevertheless i guve EG and 10% chance of winning 2-1. 1% chance of winning 2-0. 89% chance of losing lol

Vitality seems to have an easy path into the GrandFinals. With Yekindar bottom-fragging, VP will be unbearably slow (yekindar is almost the only fast element), and this will play to Vitality's advantage. OG should be easy for them. This might be Vitality's first grand Finals appearance of 2021. Good luck!

You can't say this. When qikert returned his form and Sanji's new form. If Yekindar underperform. VP just will win them 2-1. Because it's slow win))) But i want rematch Gambit vs Virtus pro/ Katowice
2021-06-07 05:57
While it's true that Vitality hasn't lost against OG once, the record might be broken soon. Vertigo & Ancient being the permaban of the two teams, the map pool favors OG. Also Zywoo is still not in his 2020 form - yesterday he got 9 eco kills (out of 18) & got 1.43 rating. I would say 65-35 in favor of OG

2021-06-07 06:07
Can't believe EG look decent. I honestly thought this org would disband the roster after the major. But if they can beat Gambit and Heroic at their first tournament in Europe storyline completely changes around the team. Obo is the next generation of talent just generally, Brehze is a star again (although he's been the worst part of the team really), Michu finally found a project, Cerq is ok kind of Brehze esque and Stan has a new lease on life. Crazy how a BO1 and BO3 can change opinions. I have no clue if this squad has any hope versus Gambit. On paper they should but I'm blown away they've won anything so who the fuck knows. It's good to see though. I like the kid Obo and Brehze has really been a superstar since 2018 by the numbers.

They need good coach and stanislaw to do more DM's (coach like rejin he used to play with karrigan and only he can fix them to be consistent). Also it will work with stan style of playing.
