Arbalet Cup reveals 2010 plans

Arbalet Cup reveals their plans for 2010, including six events in Moscow, National events in Russia and Ukraine and last but not least the Arbalet Cup event located in Europe.

The organization named Arbalet has expanded its borders massively over the past twelve months. This evening the organization revealed their plans for 2010.

First of all, there will be six events in Moscow, taking place in February, April, June, August, October and December. Each event will see eight invited teams; four Russian, two Ukrainian, one Kazakh and one Belarusian. From time to time one Uzbekistan team will play instead of one Russian. Each event will have a total prize purse of $25.000, including travel and hotel expenses paid.

Secondly, every six month there will be national Arbalet Cup held in Russia and Ukraine. The events will only be for domestic teams, tournaments to determine the best teams in the country. Total prize purse for these events will be $12.000.

Final but not least, an Arbalet Cup will take place in Stockholm, named Arbalet Cup Europe. This event will gather the best sixteen in the world. Some of the teams for the Europe event will qualify through some of the six events taking place in Moscow. The Arbalet Cup Europe event will have a staggering $100.000 prize purse, really putting Arbalet Cup on the map, in terms of being a new major event and organizer.

The organizer furthermore announced that they have decided to invite CMAX.gg (tp.uSports) and HellRaisers for Arbalet Cup Europe (the 2009 event). Both teams failed to reach the two qualifying spots this weekend, at the Moscow qualifier, which went to EYESports and KerchNET .

This means that the participant list for Arbalet Cup Europe 2009 looks as follows:

Sweden SK Gaming
Sweden fnatic
Sweden MYM
Denmark mTw
Poland AGAiN
Korea WeMade FOX
Germany Alternate
United States Evil Geniuses
Finland Power Gaming
Spain Ledpc
Ukraine KerchNET
Ukraine HellRaisers
Russia EYESports
Russia CMAX.gg

Stay tuned for more information regarding Arbalet Cup Europe 2009, which is to take place in the beginning of December in Stockholm, Sweden.

"waith" for "wait" like "winter" got "Winther" in an earlier post. xP Don't mind just having some fun. xD By the way I just noticed from nowhere, that here on HLTV.org. "The Arbalet Cup Europe event will have a staggering $100.000 prize purse," means Hundred Dollars, shouldn't there be a comma sign(,) instead of full stop(.) "$190.000 prize cut at WCG 2009" 190 dollars only buddy thats change. xD

Well, you're correct, but the reason is, I guess, that here in Scandinavia we use 190.000 = 190000 and 190,00(0) = 190

well, there was a complicated situation with HR in the past Arbalet Qualifier which resulted in some confusion. And, personally I'm happy that tp.uSports were invited instead of VP, because tp.uSports had a recent roster change which only made this strong team stronger, on the other hand, VP looks much weaker without dinGo.
2009-11-09 07:08
Don't worry they will get an invite ;)
2009-11-09 10:54

Really cool plans, seems like Post Soviet nations are gonna rock. Really cool plans to encourage the eSports. Good going Arbalet Committee. CMAX.gg (tp.uSports) and HellRaisers also got it, like when they play good, somehow lost the sponsorship well there is an Invite.

2009-11-09 07:13
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the largest prize purse in Counter-Strike now? Maybe not larger than WCG's but it's nice to see that kind of cash going into this game, last time I seen an event that paid out like that was CPL. Great news, and this years cup looks to be a great one, amazing team list.

yes, but there was several tournaments from Arbalet this year :)
2009-11-09 11:43
after my calculations(never thrust my calculations) there is 274 000 prize purse for all of the arbalet cups. esl has more then that. on the other hand. GREAT to see this kind of tournament growing. we need big tournaments for the ukraines, russians, etc. alot of talent there.
2009-11-09 12:03

it would be nice if some other teams from other countries could join. Another teams need some opportunities, and yes i'm dreaming with k1ck could join it too. lets see my point, i'm not talking just the fact of "k1ck" but the other teams too, like india ones, and the other too. It's good to their game and to grow up, and in fact in my opinion its much better to see low-skill teams playing in tournaments against the top teams and see what they can do and to help them in their gaming :x (sorry for my english it's not that good) :x
2009-11-09 11:41

agree, if we want e sports to grow, people need to focus more on the teams that haven quite made it to the top, then just focusin 100% on the 5-6 teams that win every tournament thats played in a year. there should be more tournaments like this and gamegune
