Pinnacle Cup II to feature $100,000 prize pool; Entropiq, MIBR among invitees

The Pinnacle Cup returns for its second edition in June-July with a top-heavy cash prize distribution.

Relog Media will be in charge of producing the $100,000 Pinnacle Cup II, scheduled to take place between June 28 and July 16, the organizer announced on Friday.

The format of the tournament remains unchanged from the first edition, won by Gambit in March. A group stage will lead teams into a Swiss stage, from where only the best advance to the playoffs - with different squads invited to each stage. The eventual tournament winner will take home a massive slice of the pie, $80,000.

MIBR are one of three Brazilian teams at the tournament

Breaking down the flow of the event, a total of 16 teams are invited to the group stage, including Young Ninjas, NAVI Junior, and Spirit Academy. The four best will advance further, joining 12 invited squads such as ENCE and Fiend in the Swiss stage. The top eight move on to the playoffs, where four more squads will join directly in the quarter-finals.

The first stage of Pinnacle Cup II will be played on 28-29 June, with the Swiss stage being played on five different days between July 1-13. The playoffs come shortly after, set for July 14-16.

because mibr and teamone will get more viewers than any other teams in this tournament, simple as that

I'm not questioning whether they are in the tournament, I'm questioning why they are through to the Swiss stage for no good reason. The fact that a team has more viewers should not give them a competitive advantage. Period.

in theory bring more viewers should not give them a competitive adventage, for sure, but that is not how the world works i don't think that mibr and t1 deserverd to be on the swiss stage already, but like i say before, viewers matters in a tournament like this

That is DEFINITELY how the world works in sports normally. Can you name a single major sport where a team gets a direct competitive advantage solely based on their popularity? This shit only happens in certain esports, and in particularly in CS:GO because there is so many different tournament orgs.

we are not talking about a big tournament like blast premier or esl one cologne, this is a t2 tournament, so the owner can do whatever they want to do because the teams that are playing only care about money and maybe hltv rankings and add something: match with mibr = at least 40k/50k viewers for the sponsors match without mibr = 10k/15k viewers
