HYENAS call it quits
The Danish mixture have decided to go their separate ways following Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye's retirement.
HYENAS have decided to disband and look for individual offers, the team have announced. The Danish side's disbandment was announced on the day after Kjaerbye took a step back from competitive Counter-Strike.
The team called it quits just over three months into existence, having formed in late March out of a mixture of free agents and benched players with the aim of signing with a new organization.
The lineup remained without support while they took part in a variety of tournaments, most notably in the first Regional Major Ranking tournament of 2021, Flashpoint 3, in which they placed last after losses to FunPlus Phoenix and Anonymo in the double-elimination bracket.
Outside of that, the Danes were competitive on the lower-tier scene and grabbed some important scalps there, most recently finishing second in the Funspark ULTI 2021 Europe playoffs on the back of wins over Entropiq and K23.
The following quartet has gone their separate ways, with Philip "aizy" Aistrup, Nicklas "gade" Gade, and Frederik "Fessor" Sørensen being free to join another team, while Johannes "b0RUP" Borup supposedly remains contracted to Heroic after having been benched in the Danish organization in late February.
