MSL assembles new team
The former North in-game leader has put together all the pieces and is on the lookout for an organization.
Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen has announced that he has assembled an entirely new lineup and called on interested team organizations with "high ambitions" to get in contact with him to discuss more details.
The 26-year-old has yet to name any of his new teammates, but he has shared that the roster comprises "a good mixture of talent and experience." When contacted by HLTV.org, MSL additionally said that the team's initial goals will be to compete at the top-20 level.
The in-game leader decided to put together his own project after having been teamless for the better part of a year. He stepped down from North late last year when the organization decided to shift towards a talent development strategy, and he was released after North ceased operations altogether two months later.
"I had some offers, but they were not strong enough lineup wise," MSL told HLTV.org about his motivations to build a new team instead of joining an existing lineup. "I felt there was more potential creating my own team and make better results, in the end, that's what matters for me."
The announcement rules MSL out of a potential move to fnatic, with whom he has been loosely linked as one of the most experienced in-game leaders on the market alongside Alex "ALEX" McMeekin. The possibility of the Dane leading the Swedish-majority squad was already in doubt after ALEX was reported to be in talks with fnatic earlier this month.
