Nordavind transfer-list roster: "We are not leaving the scene"
The Norwegian organization parted ways with Sabit "mirbit" Coktasar and co. after six months.
The Danish-Estonian-German squad that represented Nordavind since February is free to explore their options as the organization transfer-listed their whole lineup on Tuesday.
The team featuring Daniel "mertz" Mertz, Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann, Kevin "HS" Tarn, Anton "supra" Tšernobai, and mirbit was ranked No. 58 in the world ahead of Nordavind's announcement, but Stein Wilmann, the organization's Managing Director, explains that the decision was "strategic more than performance-related."
"Over the past years we've developed a pretty close relationship with HS and TENZKI in particular [Editor's note: the duo were a part of earlier Nordavind rosters], so it was a tough decision to make, but we are confident it was the right move according to our overall goals and ambitions for the future as an organization."
In the announcement, the organization stressed that they are not leaving the scene, with Wilmann adding that the approach to their academy roster Nordavind Talent remains unchanged, focused on the Norwegian and Nordic scene.
"Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach our goals with the lineup even though we gave 100%," mirbit said in a statement to HLTV.org. "We fought through a lot of adversity, changes in the coaching staff, and other things that can't be controlled." The 24-year-old German player was calling the shots on the team and is interested in continuing with the role, saying that the experience made him realize he has "what it takes to be a top IGL."
"Every member of this team would be a great asset for whoever is searching for talented and dedicated individuals," mirbit added, noting that the squad is looking for individual offers and is still contracted to Nordavind.
