Pinnacle Fall Series announced with $84,000; FPX, forZe among invited teams

The tournament series will award teams with spots at LAN Sweet LAN in February 2022.

Relog Media and data partner GRID Esports have announced the Pinnacle Fall and Winter Series, a rebrand of the Home Sweet Home circuit of events. The debut tournament under the new banner is set to run from August 23 to September 8 with $84,000 on offer, and will feature a total of 28 teams across four stages.

A 16-team Regional Swiss stage will kick off the event. with the eight teams who top the stage advancing to a second, "Main" Swiss stage where they will meet eight invited teams.

In the Main Swiss stage, the pool of teams is once again cut down by half, and the remaining eight sides then play the first stage of a single-elimination playoff bracket, from which the top four teams advance to a secondary playoff bracket alongside another four invited teams.

Included among the list of teams invited to the Regional stage are GamerLegion, LDLC, and Movistar Riders, while the likes of FunPlus Phoenix, forZe, SKADE, and Endpoint await in the Main Swiss stage. The four teams that will receive direct invites to the playoffs, meanwhile, are still to be determined.

The tournament series has been extended to run until March 2022 and will help in determining six more teams that will qualify for LAN Sweet LAN later next year, with MOUZ, OG, Complexity, forZe, FunPlus Phoenix, and HAVU all already having attained spots by winning previous Snow Sweet Snow and Spring Sweet Spring events. The tournament organiser did not announce how the spots would be allocated, given the change in format.

The two series and LAN Sweet LAN also remain a part of the Elisa Champion of Champions Tour alongside FunSpark ULTI events and the seasonal Elisa Invitationals, from which the highest-scoring teams will receive direct invites to Elisa Champion of Champions.

they're not bad but if you never play you dont get invites either you barely see them around anymore they only played 67 maps this year.. to compare that with forze (ranked one above them): 216 maps complexity(ranked a bit above them): 116 maps renegades (ranked one below, but trapped in aussie noscene hell): 61 maps

Honestly I'm a little bit sad that they rebranded those Home Sweet Home Cups, I really liked them. But overall it should be a nice event for FPX to finally play and win something. But I believe in AGO. GL to every team.

home sweet home rebrands? Is this because it had become synonymous with throwing and 322?
