FURIA replace honda with drop
The longest-serving member of FURIA's academy squad got a call up to the main roster.
FURIA will be promoting André "drop" Abreu to their main roster ahead of their campaign in ESL Pro League Season 14, the organisation has confirmed to Brazilian outlet ge. The 17-year-old will take the place of Lucas "honda" Cano, who replaced Paytyn "junior" Johnson in the active lineup in June after the American stepped down.
Whilst drop will be given the chance to develop and make the spot his own, the organisation did confirm that the search for a permanent fifth is still ongoing. Up to now drop has been playing for the FURIA Academy roster, and he was the standout player for them during the WePlay Academy League.

Currently, there is no guarantee that drop will be able to play at ESL Pro League. As he is not part of FURIA's official roster for the tournament, the team will need to make an emergency transfer request to ESL in order to add drop to their roster, as they are outside the transfer deadline (August 15).
If ESL reject the transfer request, then FURIA may be forced to play with coach Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira, or they alternatively may seek to fly honda in at the last minute. If the request is granted, drop will make his debut with the squad in their first match of ESL Pro League Group D against Entropiq, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 1, at 16:45 .
FURIA's lineup will be the following moving forward:
Andrei "arT" Piovezan
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
André "drop" Abreu
Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (coach)
