xsepower announces free agency
The 23-year-old Russian AWPer had spent the better part of 2021 on forZe's bench.
Bogdan "xsepower" Chernikov will be moving into free agency, the player stated via his Twitter on Wednesday.
The announcement comes around seven months after xsepower was moved to forZe's bench along with Dmitriy "facecrack" Alekseyev in favour of Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko and Aleksandr "KENSI" Gurkin. The new roster just recently qualified for the playoffs of ESL Pro League, ahead of G2, Virtus.pro, and Sinners.
xsepower was one of the key components of forZe's successful rise throughout 2018 and 2019, averaging a 1.20 rating in 2019 on the way to a trophy at Copenhagen Games and a second place finish at BLAST Pro Series Moscow.
The team and xsepower himself hit a rough patch of form toward the end of 2020, which saw him cut from the team, with all of his last three events with the Russian squad seeing him fail to reach a 1.00+ rating.
Since that time the AWPer, along with facecrack, has linked up with ex-HellRaisers core Nikolaj "kalinka" Rysakov, Dmitriy "ProbLeM" Martinov, and Nikita "JIaYm" Panyushkin, playing under the name bankaPEPSI.
That mixed team has played at various qualifiers and tier-two events, as well as the EPIC League Regional Major Ranking event. Most recently they failed to advance through the Funspark ULTI Europe Regional Qualifier, finishing behind teams like AGO, O PLANO and MAD Lions.
The move leaves forZe with the following roster:
Anatoliy "liTTle" Yashin (coach)
