NAVI thrash ENCE in ESL Pro League quarter-finals

The CIS squad were never in trouble against ENCE and await a rival in the semi-finals.

Natus Vincere have gotten themselves just two victories away from an Intel Grand Slam title, the team’s biggest motivation going into the ESL Pro League playoffs, after defeating ENCE 2-0 in the tournament’s quarter-finals.

"To complete this road we just need to play our game," Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev said about chasing the Intel Grand Slam. "Everyone understands the importance of each game right now."

s1mple and company will go on to play the winner of the second quarter-final of the day, which pits Heroic and Liquid, both teams that have shown to be title contenders when taking their results in ESL Pro League into account.

electronic averaged a 1.54 rating in the series

Natus Vincere did not give ENCE any room on the international squad’s map pick of Ancient, starting on the preferred CT side and losing just two rounds as Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy and Denis "electroNic" Sharipov wreaked havoc. Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and company then took the second pistol round to cleanly close the map out without a hitch, 16-2.

On Nuke the two were even after six rounds, but Lotan "Spinx" Giladi then won a crucial 1vs2 afterplant on A with a Desert Eagle to defuse the bomb and win the round for his team. Natus Vincere struck right back with a forcebuy to keep things close and s1mple then won a 1vs2 of his own to get his team ahead, 5-4, after which NAVI dominated the half, making it to double digits, 10-5.

Natus Vincere then secured the second pistol round and once again, like on Ancient, took it home without giving up a single round in the second half, ending it 16-5 to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

To win IGS they don't need to win a major. But if u mean it at all, that they need to win a major to establish themselves in a history, yes ur correct

Why is the major required? IGS is harder to achieve and shows dominant performance through the entire year. Major is only 1 tournament.

Why is the Stanley Cup required? It is only 20-30 games compared to 82 games season throughout the year. Why is NBA championship required? MLB: 162-game season! But it is only three playoff series wins that matters. Mind blowing. Why in Tennis Grand Slam victories values way more than No.1 in rating in the end of the year? Olympic Games? That lasts only 2 and a half weeks, and held only every four years. And so on.

mlb/nba/stanley cup bad comparisons, each season for those games is like one big tournament, and the playoffs are the direct result of the regular season that lasts multiple months. with csgo the majors are the highest profile tournaments, and mean a lot culturally, but ultimately winning multiple big tournaments (IEM, Blast, whatever) over the course of a year means more in terms of a team's dominance than winning one major.
2021-09-10 20:26

mlb/nba/stanley cup are good comparisons, because the post was about performance throughout the year versus one short tournament result. And nobody counts wins in tournaments over the course of a years.

+1 Major has more prestige, but I dont really know why. The grand final is not even bo5. Even some players said in an interview (dont remember which one) that the major doesnt even feel differenet compared to other tournaments. Major should be more like the international. Once per year, the swiss system is ok I guess. And the playoffs should be all bo5. Or at least the grand final. The winner should be the team that plays the best cs in all the maps.

The NaVi era is here. I called it. ENCE is a really good team, I hope they will stick to this roster and just play and practice, because it's surely a great team, but you know, don't expect them to win vs NaVi now, I don't think there is anyone that could beat NaVi so I wouldn't laugh at ENCE because of this, they had a good run.
