Havan Liberty top first IEM Fall SA open qualifier
The first of two open qualifiers for IEM Fall South America have concluded, with Havan Liberty securing victory and claiming themselves a spot in the four-team closed qualifier.
The open qualifier featured many known names within the South American scene, including the likes of SWS, Imperial, and DETONA. One of the notable results going into the top four was the quadruple overtime match between DETONA and Leviatan, the Argentinian team who made the final.
Havan Liberty took down SWS on their way to the final, and encountered little resistance overall. The final was much of the same, with the Rodrigo "drg" Ausenka-led team taking control of both maps with their strong Terrorist sides. It was Havan Liberty AWPer, Victor "remix" Monteiro, who led the way during the match against Leviatan, posting an impressive 1.51 rating over the series.
The second open qualifier is set to begin on September 11, and already has 49 teams signed up on ESEA. It will serve as the final chance for South American teams to qualify for IEM Fall and potentially win RMR points.
