Triumph, ATK complete IEM Fall NA closed qualifier list

Six main event spots will be on offer in the closed qualifier, played next weekend.

Triumph and ATK became the final two teams who will take part in the IEM Fall North America closed qualifier after coming out on top of the final open qualifier on Sunday.

The North American and South African side will join three Brazilian teams, paiN, TeamOne, and GODSENT, as well as Bad News Bears, RBG, and Strife in the closed qualifier, which will be played on September 18-19 in a best-of-three double-elimination bracket.

Only two of these teams will be eliminated, with the remaining six advancing to the final Regional Major Ranking tournament in the region and joining the likes of Liquid, Evil Geniuses, and FURIA in the fight for the last chance to gain points in the race to PGL Major Stockholm.

5 spots for NA, including 3 Legends which skip round 1, vs 1 contender spot for SA. You'd have a much better chance of qualifying in NA if you are a team that is capable of playing at that level to begin with.

Valve doesn't want NA scence to die. At this point it would be fair to give 3 spots for NA and 3 spots to SA but you exclude SA from NA RMR.

It's based on the spots that were earned by each region at the last major. So that's about as fair as they can make it.

If you do that, you automatically kill both NA and SA scene

I really don't think they would have invited ATK who are South African unless an American(motm) was on the roster or if there was a better NA team and aren't some of the Brazilian teams living in the United States?

You do know it was a qualifier and they wernt invited ? ATK moved to mexico to compete in these tournaments, so no they didnt need an american to gain entry and played no factor, stop jumping to conclusions
