REPUBLEAGUE TIPOS Season 2 groups drawn

Teams like Entropiq, Eternal Fire, Dignitas, MIBR, and K23 will be in play in the group stage of the $120,000 event.

The organizers of REPUBLEAGUE Tipos Season 2 have drawn the groups of the tournament, which will run in a GSL format from September 20-October 12 with one group played every Monday and Tuesday over the four weeks of play.

Fiend are the highest-ranked team in Group A, where they have been drawn alongside Dignitas, EXTREMUM (who replaced ENCE at the event), and eSuba. In Group B, Entropiq will be heavy favorites alongside the star-studded Eternal Fire squad, with DREAM UA and Sampi fighting an uphill battle as the clear underdogs.

Group C features another top-30 team K23 as well as Izako Boars, Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács and Denis "seized" Kostin's Singularity, and Slovakian-Czech representatives Enterprise. Group D is the only group to boast two local teams from the Slovakian organizer's region, Entropiq Prague and ECLOT, who will lock horns with LDLC and MIBR in the GSL format.

Two teams from each group will advance to the Play-in stage, from which the four winners will make it to the playoffs, joining 12 directly invited teams. Only SKADE, SINNERS, SAW, and FORZE have been revealed out of those as the previous season's top four finishers.

It really shouldn't happen, I agree. That's the reason Valve cracked down on it in the first place.

The only match when these 2 lineups can meet is in grandfinals. We know it's possible, but unlikely.

imagine being a team invited to this tournament and hearing the organizer say on a webpage "we think it's unlikely this team will make it to the finals"

Our main goal is to give more space for CZ/SK teams to play on international tournaments. We are not discrediting these teams, but we know it won't be easy for them :)

In that case why not just do more tournaments for teams only from those countrys. That way they can actually win something not just play 2 maps and get eliminated.
2021-09-14 17:46
While this is commendable, there are other teams you could have invited instead of the main Entropiq team, while still sticking with Entropiq Prague. That would have eliminated any need for a discussion about competitive integrity.
2021-09-14 15:33
but it IS unlikely and everybody realises it why should it be wrong to say it, they´re not insulting or downgrading them, they are stating an objective fact

it's just as unlikely as any other draw. Just because they are a weaker team doesn't mean they shouldn't be seen as equal

thats exactly what it means, they shouldn´t be belittled or anything, but some scenarios are obviously more likely to happen than other and imo it is kinda stupid to ignore that admitting they have a smaller chance than someone else doesn´t hurt anyone, because everybody including them realizes that

Why Eternal Trash getting these invites? It has to be because they bring in more viewers than other teams and CSGO is dying so they want to use any means necessary. Overrated "super team" that is max tier 3 < Actual good team with potential

As these 2 teams won't be playing eachother (small chance), we don't see this as a problem. If this match will happen - we will be discussing further about not being able to bet, or gain ESL points for these teams. Hope I made it clear and transparent.

I looked at eSuba logo and I thought it was Complexity honestly. Should be a quick and easy event for forZe, they have made huge progress over the last few weeks, they are looking great and it feels like maybe this roster can finally get them to TOP 10.
