NIP COO to step in for THREAT at BLAST Premier Fall Groups

Jonas Gundersen has been registered as NIP's coach for the Swedish team's upcoming matches.

NIP will be joining the BLAST servers without their coach Björn "THREAT" Pers, who was left off the team sheet due to "unforeseen personal circumstances". Instead of the 33-year-old Swede, Hampus "hampus" Poser and co. will be having the team's Chief Operating Officer Jonas Gundersen assisting in the matches during the group stage.

THREAT's omission was described as a temporary situation by the organization, with the coach set to return to his position for the following events. Even at BLAST, THREAT will be helping the team as much as possible as they are set to clash with the likes of BIG and G2.

THREAT will still be working with the team during the event

"Due to some short-term unforeseen personal circumstances, potentially making me unavailable for the games, we thought it was better that we had a coach registered that we knew could be with the team, and let Jonas [Gundersen] do it instead for BLAST Groups," THREAT said in a statement to HLTV.org. "I am still there 100% working with the team, and hope to be there for the games as well, although not on the server!"

Yes. He was still playing superstar roles despite not being as good as other star riflers and it held NiP back. REZ was a hard entry like friberg. Seeing how he performed now imagine if he had some time to take that role instead? He's playing against t2 opposition in a good team with star roles. Calling him washed at t1 isnt an insult to the legacy he's had. But like all players you cant stay in your prime forever.

f0rest was 10x what JW was from 2019-20-21. If f0rest is what is considered 'washed' what do you even call JW-esque players (like guardian maybe) ? Super ultra mega washed?

2021-09-20 12:56
Are you crazy?? F0rest was'nt holding the team back at all. In 2019 rez had no consistency , nip had no awper and had IGL that has playing in the role bc no one wanted to do it (yeah, lekro was covering this role since fnatic bc no one wanted to play igl role in sweden). If f0rest still had playing in t1 he probably would be like even better, carrying his own weight and winming important round. You clearly don't know the concept of being washed up. Do you want a example of player that was washed, guardian, he wasn't in tier 1 leve anymorenon other hand f0rest was in that level

2021-09-21 16:14
I think it was really unfortunate that f0rest left nip to play with his 87-0 club. At that point GTR was holding them back big time, and after he left good things could have happened for nip if f0rest stayed.
2021-09-20 16:22
f0rest definitely wasn't washed. GeT_RiGhT on the other hand I agree

NiP is really shaky, they say themselves that they don't communicate good if you listen to their content on youtube, the strats obviously don't work and i just purely don't think that THREAT's coaching/leadership fits with this team. Although, nothing will fit until they get rid of their Young Ninjas substitutes and bring in someone experienced.

Hampus is a good rifler but he is an awful IGL. Have you seen how he peaks in the most dangerous areas without flashin or smoking, and is always the first to die
2021-09-19 20:34
I mean, his IGLing is basically that it either works or it doesn't. So many times when the opponent knows what they're doing and he can't change it because his IGLing sucks. The biggest downside with NIP atm is definitely Hampus. Really bad at adapting to the enemy. They're like G2. It either works, or they lose. Because they certainly can't adapt.
