IEM Fall CIS qualification reaches conclusion
The closed qualifier for IEM Fall CIS ended today with six teams qualifying to grab spots at the tournament, which will be the final Regional Major Ranking event. The six that qualified join six direct invites to battle out for the last RMR points on offer and will be hoping to seal qualification for the PGL Major in Stockholm, taking place October 26-November 7.
The four teams directly invited to the best-of-three double elimination qualifier, Entropiq, Unique, Nemiga and Akuma, all qualified at the first attempt by winning their opening round games. This sent the four teams that made it through the open qualifiers to the lower bracket to compete for the final two spots, where AVE and INDE IRAE triumphed to complete the team list and end the qualification phase for IEM Fall CIS.
With up to 2500 RMR points up for grabs at IEM Fall, and about that many points separating 1st and 8th in the current CIS RMR standings, there is plenty left to play for.
Many eyes will be on Virtus.pro who, despite being ranked #7 in the HLTV world rankings, are currently sat outside the qualification spots for the Major. At IEM Fall, they will need to outplace teams like K23 and forZe in particular if they want to have any hope of making it to Stockholm.
