Triumph, ATK claim final spots in IEM Fall NA

The pair of teams will face stiff competition in the main event as teams vie for a spot at the PGL Stockholm Major.

The closed qualifier for IEM Fall North America has come to an end, seeing ATK and Triumph book the final two spots in the main event after beating RBG and Strife, respectively, in the lower bracket.

Both matches required coaches to step in on a map for one of their players, with Strife being the team that ended up the worst off as one of their members was suffering from chest issues, requiring a hospital visit.

The team faired poorly without David "J0LZ" Jolin at full strength in their series, and were subjected to a battering from Triumph. After leading by five rounds at halftime on Nuke, Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk's side wasted little time in closing things out, before laying waste to Strife on Overpass with a 16-0 victory.

Triumph are through to IEM Fall North America

ATK, meanwhile, succeeded in their effort to beat RBG, scoring a win in three maps despite needing to use their coach Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan over Ian "motm" Hardy on Vertigo. Despite trailing 2-9 at the start of the map, a stellar T side from the South African squad allowed for them to recover and clinch a narrow win, 16-13.

However, they were quickly dealt a heavy blow on Nuke, where an inspired performance from motm was not enough to help his team be competitive in the map, with RBG converting a 14-1 halftime lead to force a Mirage decider. There, the teams remained deadlocked at the break, but it was once again a strong showing on the T side that helped ATK close things out, 16-12, to qualify for the main event.

IEM Fall North America is set to run from October 5 to 10, and will offer the final share of Regional Major Ranking points to competing teams ahead of the PGL Stockholm Major.

Haha just imagining a pro player from Antarctica is hilarious, it would take a miracle. Population of 5000, not really any permanent residents, only roughly 12 hours of satellite internet per day, super isolated and no time to practice between main research job. Btw jobs in Antarctica pay really good salary.

5 Brazilian teams, 1 South African team, 1 Oceanian team, and 2 "NA" teams which have EU and SA players mixed in. Just wish the other boys down under could relocate to NA to escape the unreasonable lockdowns here in AU

Feels bad for Strife, Triumph is in a weird spot, it feels like their lineup is changing from week to week really. ATK will probably be the first to be eliminated, I don't see a place for them at the Major, I really think motm can do better than this team.

south africa gonna save NA/SA CS let's go
