DBL PONEY and NIP take lead in Group D at IEM Fall
DBL PONEY and Ninjas in Pyjamas are sitting on a 2-0 record while SKADE move to 1-1 after a Bulgarian derby.
In their second victory in the group, DBL PONEY denied fnatic on Nuke after a back and forth match that ended 16-13, with the second consecutive loss putting pressure on Alex "ALEX" McMeekin and co. who require a top-six finish at the event in order to guarantee a spot at the Major.
Ninjas in Pyjamas ran over FaZe on Ancient with a 16-8 scoreline as Hampus "hampus" Poser led the Swedish side with 22 kills. The Ninjas already sit comfortably in the RMR rankings at fourth but will look to secure as many points as possible to confirm their spot in Sweden and look to reach as high as a Legends status.
SKADE came out on top in the Bulgarian head-to-head on Overpass with Fiend after going the full 30 rounds in a match of two group underdogs. Denislav "dennyslaw" Dimitrov and Georgi "SHiPZ" Grigorov led the way, each putting 30 kills on the board and pulling their side across the line.

Ninjas in Pyjamas kicked off Ancient with a commanding lead over FaZe after winning the pistol and extending as far as 7-1 before the Finn "karrigan" Andersen led squad could respond. Individual performances were missing for FaZe on their T side overall as they had their work cut out for them in the second half.
Helvijs "broky" Saukants showed promising signs on the CT side, but Ninjas in Pyjamas landed on match point at 15-4 and eventually closed the map out before any comeback attempt could be put in motion.
SKADE survived the Bulgarian derby against Fiend on Overpass thanks to the performances of dennyslaw and SHiPZ but managed to play from behind for the majority of the game before securing the win.
Both teams found more success on the CT sides as Viktor "v1c7oR" Dyankov and Deyvid "h4rn" Benchev stood out on Fiend's defensive side. In the end, they were only able to put four T rounds on the board and they fell short of the much-needed victory.
Despite the best efforts from William "mezii" Merriman who managed 28 kills, fnatic were unable to pull ahead and maintain a lead throughout the map. DBL PONEY's AWPer Aurélien "afro" Drapier led in AWP kills, overall kills and opening kills.
fnatic's disappointing CT side cost them the vital rounds needed to stay ahead in the second half, as they handed DBL PONEY's second win in the group.
The Group D standings look as follows after two rounds of play:
