Finalists of WePlay Academy League Season 2 set
NAVI Junior will join three of the first season's finalists in Kyiv in mid-November.
The regular portion of the Academy League's second season has witnessed four teams making it through to the finals, with Young Ninjas, MOUZ NXT, NAVI Junior, and BIG Academy set to travel to Ukraine's capital city for the culmination of the $100,000 competition.
The first season's champions, MOUZ NXT, and runners-up, Young Ninjas, will return to Kyiv after showcasing their dominance among the youngster teams once again, passing through the group stage undefeated as they topped their brackets.
It was a particularly smooth sailing for the Jon "JDC" de Castro-led side powered by massive performances from Dorian "xertioN" Berman and Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás, as they didn't lose a single map across three series in Group B against FURIA Academy, VP.Prodigy, and fnatic Rising.
In the meantime, the Swedish squad around Erik "ztr" Gustafsson found life more difficult in Group A, overcoming a tough opponent in NAVI Junior twice in three-map series to clinch their spot at the finals.
Despite being unsuccessful in either of the two series against Young Ninjas, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov and company went on to pass through the Play-in stage, making it to Kyiv with the help of Egor "flamie" Vasilyev this time after having missed a spot at the finals in the first season.
It was a stunning double comeback against fnatic Rising that earned BIG Academy the final spot. Down 7-14 on the second map of the deciding series of the Play-in stage, the Germans pulled it back on the CT side of Vertigo to win in overtime, before they executed another massive turnaround on Overpass from a 8-14 deficit to make their return to the finals in Ukraine.
The following quartet will be in action at the WePlay Academy League Season 2 Finals from November 12-14:
