The 22-year old British AWPer is now a free agent after eight months with the Spanish organization.
*Update: Lucas "steel" Lopes has also been released from his contract with Movistar Riders. The Brazilian in-game leader spent almost two years with the team since joining in October 2019 and was moved to the bench in July.
Owen "smooya" Butterfield has left Movistar Riders and is now a free agent, the player announced on Twitter. The young AWPer has been released from his contract with the organization after spending two months on the bench following the team's decision to return to a fully Spanish roster in August.
Butterfield revealed that he will consider offers for both North American and European teams as well as opportunities in VALORANT.
"Today I'm being released from my Movistar contract making me a unrestricted Free Agent. Thank you so so much to @Movistar_Riders for our time together and taking this step to help progress my career. I will forever be in debt to you," smooya said on Twitter.
"For myself this means I'm now a Free Agent and will be open to all offers coming from EU/NA for both CSGO & Valorant," he continued.
Most recently, smooya stood-in for fnatic during the IEM Winter 2021 open qualifiers as the Alex "ALEX" McMeekin-led team explore their options after moving Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson to the bench.
