Heroic advance to bracket final with victory over Dignitas

The Danes were made to work for it on both maps by the Swedes, in particular on Nuke.

Heroic secured victory over Dignitas, 19-16 on Nuke and 16-13 on Overpass, to stay on course to make the BLAST Fall Finals. We will see them back in action on Sunday at 15:30 for the bracket final, where they will face either Complexity or OG for that all important LAN berth.

It wasn't all plain sailing for the Danes as evidenced by the close score lines on both maps, however Nuke was really where Dignitas should have made their mark on the series.

The match kicked off with Nuke, a map that has historically been strong for both of these line-ups. Despite being known for their CT side, Dignitas opened with an impressive T side, posting seven rounds with a wide range of different looks. Heroic struggled to get their usually strong CT side going, in particular Casper "cadiaN" Møller finding little impact with the AWP.

The second half was another close affair, Heroic winning the pistol and running the score to 13-7 before Dignitas began to put together an ominous looking run of rounds. It was beginning to look like a signature monster CT half would secure Nuke for the Swedes, but Heroic made the right adjustments, grabbing the two rounds needed right at the end of the half to secure OT.

Unfortunately Dignitas were not quite the same team in OT, and Heroic comfortably secured the victory 19-16. Ismail "refrezh" Ali got the important work done for the Danes, posting a very healthy 87 ADR on his way to the top rating on the server.

Moving over to Overpass, Dignitas got started on the CT half this time around. The Swedes won the pistol and stormed into the lead, taking seven of the first eight rounds before Heroic could find a reply. The Danes did manage to recover, trading some rounds before stringing three together at the end of the half to go into their T side at a 6-9 deficit.

As the second half began once again Dignitas won the pistol, making it four out of four for the series, and converted to go 12-6 up, leaving things looking dire for Heroic.

It was at this point that Heroic woke up, and they went on to win 10 of the next 11 rounds to take home the series 2-0. Once the guns came out the Danes never really looked in trouble, Dignitas really struggling to make anything work on their T side.

What is actually good about this team is their discipline especially while playing ct side and that there is no weak link like in some other teams

Dignitas put up one hell of a fight against the ex-top 2 team. Very impressed by them.

Damn NT Dignitas... Man i love the old guard, and friberg does a good job, but even being igl, he needs to frag a little more, just a little. There have been matches when it shows his aim is kinda rust.

Yeah sadly his prime is very long gone. Such a nice dude but it feels like he should just switch to coaching. Then again: who could step in as the IGL for Dig?

I really thought they‘d swipe Heroic when they entered Nuke with 8-7 on T… also second map was really close, I think Dignitas can climb top20 when they all put in their whole effort. f0rest deserves so hard to compete T1, make it happen please.

Dignitas is 1 roster change away from being a legit top 20 team, its like back when FaZe lost every match 16-14 against NaVi and G2
2021-10-16 02:06
What happen with all hate against heroic? Its not like theyre the one to get the advantage from hunden, its their opponent who get the advantage while playing against them and thats because of hunden Heroic deserve to be at the top with this roster tbh, refrezh, teses, stavn, sjuush, all young and wild

Heroic looked good in the latter stages of the match, DIG put up a reall solid fight, it's good to see Heroic playing well again, they have been in sort of a ,,unstable'' time lately. DIG put up a great fight, individually it was a really close one, and I'm kinda surprised by that, but in the end Heroic is the better team and they showed it here, GG to both teams.
