Liquid round out BLAST Premier Fall Final team list

Thomas "TMB" Bundsbæk's men fall short in the end after an impressive journey at the Showdown.

Liquid secured a spot at the Royal Arena after defeating MAD Lions 2-0 and finishing in the top 2 at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. The North Americans took a swift 16-9 victory on Nuke before having to come back from a 5-10 deficit on Inferno. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. will play in the BLAST Premier Fall Final in Copenhagen on November 24-28.

"It feels amazing to qualify because it is an event that is going to be in a packed arena, so obviously something that everyone has been looking forwards to get back to... and feel like it's the old days again," Keith "NAF" Markovic shared in the post-match interview when asked about Liquid's qualification to the Fall Final.

NAF ended the series with a fantastic 1.51 rating

Liquid showed why they came into the series as favorites with a solid performance on Nuke. The North Americans controlled the first half on the CT side, winning a crucial force buy in round 5, which broke the T economy and allowed Liquid to win seven in a row. NAF had a great half, dropping 16 kills and helping his team to close the half ahead 10-5.

Despite winning the second half pistol, MAD Lions were not able to maintain the pressure once rifles came into play. Liquid were able to comfortably take their opponents' map pick 16-9 on the T side.

MAD Lions mirrored Liquid's Nuke performance on Inferno, shutting down their opponents on the CT side and leading 10-5 at halftime. Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk shined on the defense, ending the half with a 16-6 K-D and 101.0 ADR. Liquid failed to convert several late-round situations, often losing due to the lack of time.

The European mix was, however, unable to see the game out. Liquid won the second pistol and kept their foot on the gas, winning six rounds in a row and taking the lead at 11-10. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip kept a perfect hold of the B bombsite alongside NAF, with both players taking turns in winning crucial rounds to guarantee the Liquid comeback. The North Americans edged Inferno 16-13, sweeping MAD Lions 2-0 and earning the last ticket to the Royal Arena.

They have the major and Blast Fall Final, I’d rather they prep those two better than going to iem winter. Is it even a masters level event?

Like gaules said, everything (clutches and lucky situations) went in the way of Team Liquid and MAD lions still were able to make the game very close. Those kids have a bright future. Ggwp

Yes, clutches went towards Liquid; Liquid has always been a good clutch team (and also good clutch loser team lol). But Mad Lions got a lot of lucky rounds, atleast on T side. All 3 of their Inferno rounds were more or less luck based. That aside, yeah, this team is good and can be great. Hope Mad Lions management don't F this team up too
