October 18:

The wait is nearly over. We're just over a week away from the kick-off of PGL Major Stockholm, the biggest tournament to take place since the pandemic began, the first played in front of a large crowd in almost two years, and arguably the most prestigious ever in CS:GO, offering a record-breaking $2 million prize pool.

Before we get there, we've got a healthy leadup in the calendar to get ready. With eight days to go, we have a great opportunity to hype up the quickly approaching spectacle with a variety of content pieces we have prepared before the Stockholm event rolls around with the first stage on October 26.

The coverage hub returns in time for the first Major in two years

Every day for the next eight days, we'll roll out our pre-Major content about Majors themselves and the players and teams in attendance, totaling over 15 feature articles, interviews, and previews.

This is where we begin our Major countdown.

As our first piece, the hub will be your guide through our extensive coverage of PGL Major Stockholm, a place where you can return to find the latest that we have released in preparation for and during the tournament — from our pre-Major content to Swiss stage and playoffs matchup draws, match reports, galleries, stats, and result pages when the event starts.

Just over the next few days, you can look forward to interviews with Entropiq and Renegades, a look back at just how much has changed since the last Major in Berlin took place over two years ago, and a piece in which we flip through some of the best captures from our humongous photo album from each and every one of the past 15 Majors.

And there's plenty more to look forward to after that, including features about Nicolai "device" Reedtz's time at NIP so far, Natus Vincere's hopes of clinching their first Major, and more.

"alsooo, 2millions very bad, dota2 40m" You cant compare Dota and CSGO lol. Dota adds money from random people like you and me, CSGO does not do that. "The initial prize pool of the tournament is $1,600,000 USD. An additional 25% of all Battle Pass sales are added to the total prize pool." lol I believe the winners get 750.000 dollars from PGL Stockholm. But, we have to wait and see.

"CSGO does not do that" they do actually with stickers. top teams get millions from stickers
2021-10-19 08:52

Still nothing compared with Dota. Look at The International. The original prize pool is only 1.6 million and after adding 25% of the profit from battle passes it was 40 million lol. Imagine if a CS major had like 10-15 million as prize pool if they added money from *insert thing players can buy*, would be hyped AF.

"Still nothing compared with Dota" no, its not nothing. its most likely quite comparable. tens of millions from stickers given to teams overall. the problem is that money from stickers are not public, so >90% of viewers dont know about this and no hype created.
2021-10-19 11:28

"tens of millions from stickers given to teams overall." I doubt its tens of millions. 80% of the people buy the sticker capsules when they are on sale lol.

forze ex coach just said that every major team get 1mil from stickers. Spunj, Pimp also have said that top teams get millions from stickers. So its tens of millions overall for all teams.
2021-10-19 12:34

1-10 million is still nothing compared with TI. Winner of TI got 18.2 MILLION dollars. The team that finished last in TI got 100.000, which is insane since the teams that finished 17th-24th at the last CSGO major in 2019 got nothing lol.

if every team gets 1mil from stickers its 24mil at least +2 mil prize pool. its less than TI prizepool but its far from "nothing". its quite comparable amounts. sticker money are distributed much more evenly than ti prize pool thats the difference. but its necessary not a bad thing.
