Heroic add Xizt as analyst; temporary coach for PGL Major Stockholm*
The legendary former in-game leader will bolster the ranks of Heroic's staff.
Richard "Xizt" Landström has joined Heroic as an analyst, the Danish organization has announced. The 30-year-old will also temporarily fill the role of coach for the team as they begin their PGL Major Stockholm campaign on October 26.
Xizt announced his retirement from professional play in September, hanging up the mouse after a 12-year-long career that included stints on fnatic, Dignitas, FaZe, and the legendary NIP lineup that dominated the early stages of CS:GO.
Although Xizt's primary role will be that of an analyst, the Danish team will utilize him as their coach in their Major bid, filling the spot that has been left vacant since the organization cut ties with Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen in July.
The move marks Xizt's first foray into an analytical role, bringing with him a wealth of experience after occupying an in-game leader position for much of his career. Per Heroic's announcement, it is likely that the team will look to find a more permanent solution to their coaching slot following their Major appearance as Xizt is only set to "step in."
Update: When asked about the distinction of adding Xizt for 2021 on HLTV Confirmed, Casper "cadiaN" Møller said, "both for his sake and ours, we're trying to learn each other, because it's also for a very short basis.
"The plan as of right now is that we're testing each other, see if there is a language barrier, do we have the same philosophy, the same style. Obviously we're working with him in regards to wanting to keep him and wanting to develop that relationship."
Heroic now have:
