PGL Major Stockholm in numbers
How many players will attend their first Major? Which team is the youngest on average? How many players have attended over 10 Majors in total? Find out these answers and more.
The PGL Stockholm 2021 Major is finally here, marking the return to CS:GO Majors since the pandemic and the 16th overall Valve-sponsored Championship tournament. To get a feel of how Stockholm will compare to to its predecessors, as well as to see just how long it has been since the last Major, we've compiled a collection of statistics, streaks, and other factoids to whet your appetite.

Country representation
First up we have country representation and distribution. With the expansion of the Majors to include 24 teams, the player counts listed here can be difficult to compare to older Majors which had 16 teams.

At 21 players, Brazil will have the most representatives they've ever had in any of the 24 team Majors, and should one of the three Brazilian teams in the Challengers stage advance to the Legends stage, it'll be their highest participant count in a top-16 stage of a Major. Additionally, Stockholm will have the fewest American representatives since Krakow 2017.

Rookies
The next thing we'll look at will be the Major rookies, which is a very sizeable group this time around. Exactly half (60) of the players at the event will attend their first-ever Major. There are also 19 rookies in the top 16 stage of the event so far, which is almost a quarter of the 80 players that will play in the Legends stage already.
First are the general rookies, who had never made it to any stage of a Major:

And then here are the rookies making their first appearance in a top-16 stage of a Major so far:

-
Gambit

-
NIP

-
Vitality

As can be seen in the second table, certain players like the FURIA core or Perfecto are not overall Major rookies, but will play in the Legends stage for the first time, after having exited in previous Majors before making the top 16.
Youngest and oldest
Taking a look at player ages, here are the six youngest and six oldest players in Sweden:

The most common birth year among Major participants is 1999, a year when 16 players were born. The most common month within the same year is December of 1999, when four players were born. To top it off, two players have the exact same birthday (yuurih and Robin "ropz" Kool) on December 22, 1999.

In terms of full lineups, here we have the three youngest and three oldest teams:
Major attendance records
Next up are some impressive attendance records. There are six total players who have attended the top 16 stage of all 15 Majors before PGL Stockholm. Two of those players will extend that streak to 16, while three more have the potential to, depending on their team's performance during the Challengers stage:
Secured 16th top 16 Nicolai "device" Reedtz
Richard "shox" Papillon
Potential to extend to 16 Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen
Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth
Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer
Cannot extend streak Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko
Some other lengthy attendance streaks from players at this Major can be found below, as well as whether or not they can retain the run at Stockholm. Both this list and the one following it only consider the top 16 portion of the event, to stay consistent with the earlier Majors.
Consecutive Majors (top 16) attended Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo - 11 Majors in a row (Will extend to 12)
Håvard "rain" Nygaard - 11 Majors in a row (Potential for 12)

Mainstay countries
There are a total of seven countries that have been represented in the top 16 portion of every Major through StarLadder Berlin, and will continue to do so at the PGL Major:

Attendance wasn't always a guarantee for some of these countries, Canada especially. At PGL Krakow and ELEAGUE Boston, only a single player from Canada attended the top 16 portion of the Major (Mike "shroud" Grzesiek and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, respectively).
Organization representation
There have been many different organizations at the Majors over the years, with many attending most of them. But which have attended the most? Natus Vincere stands as the only organization to have attended all 16 Majors, while fnatic has attended the second most, at 14. Here are the top seven organizations by attendance count:
