TYLOO and Renegades avoid going 0-2 in Challengers Stage

The two Asia-Pacific squads move into the 1-1 matches tomorrow as Brazilian teams suffer more defeats.

TYLOO and Renegades have avoided going 0-2 in the Challengers Stage as both squads faced Brazilian sides in their second matches of the event — and won. Renegades struggled in the early rounds on Nuke, just like against Movistar Riders, but kicked things into gear to pull the map back in their favour against paiN. TYLOO managed to come out on top against Sharks in a messy map of Mirage.

aliStair's aggressive AWPing style won the Renegades some crucial rounds.

For the second time in the tournament, Renegades found themselves on Nuke and were incredibly slow to put rounds on the board. Despite paiN leading the Australian side 9-2, the Aussies clawed back some rounds to secure a 6-9 half.

Liam "malta" Schembri, Jordan "Hatz" Bajic and Alistair "aliStair" Johnston took turns with making individual plays that secured them rounds as the Brazilian side was unable to match the firepower of the Aussies. Despite being pushed the distance, Renegades were able to secure their first win at the event and move into the 1-1 matches to be played tomorrow.

TYLOO and Sharks went head-to-head on Mirage as both teams hoped to avoid going 0-2 in a match that had decided the destiny of fan Pick'ems across the globe. The game was messy as both teams were bailed out by individual performances on route to their first win in Stockholm.

Following a half split 7-8, the money and momentum constantly shifted between the two teams but TYLOO eventually came out on top. YuanZhang "Attacker" Sheng stood out in TYLOO's victory, falling two kills short of 30 at the end of the match. Sharks will join paiN in the 0-2 matches as the Chinese side will progress into the 1-1 games.

EG does not deserve a legend spot... but deserve a contender spot. EG was top 8 in last major, so the spot is assigned to NA. I guess they won't make it this time.

last major was 2 years ago, and eg are now barely top 40 i think, theres a lot more teams that deserve the legends spot. ur right tho theyre fine if they were contenders spot

The spot was assigned based on result of last major but it seems totally unreasonable based on current performance... Valve gave 5 spots to NA but actually 3 of them are brazilian team. Maybe they should be considered as SA team when Valve assign the spot for next major. NA level drops too fast because of the pandemic and competed away from Europe. Asia and OCE each gets one is fine. There are more stronger European teams than these two regions.

I don't like NA players because some of them are too cocky, but can't deny they are talented. But NA lose a lot of talented players to Volarant during the pandemic... The center of CS is still in Europe.

true, i think a lot of them do it for the content tho bc thats how a lot of NA players were in cs and the ones that went to valorant are like that too

In the dota2 international, the 3 south american teams went out in the bottom places. Will it happen here too?

Sharks felt like a no brainer. Renegades and tyloo don't get many if any chances to play oposition outside their region so its hard to gauge how good they are. Sharks have had stints in europe and have looked terrible.

Good game from TYLOO honestly, tbh. this team looks good actually, nice showing against Heroic, now good win over Sharks, the game vs Spirit was a mess, I agree, but other than that overall I expected them to play much much worse. Same for Renegades. Those teams are actually doing far better than I expected tbh.
