stanislaw, oBo, MICHU depart EG
The three most recent additions to the lineup have found their way out of the organization.
Evil Geniuses announced on Saturday the departure of Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, Owen "oBo" Schlatter, and Michał "MICHU" Müller from their active lineup, stating that they are looking come back stronger in 2022. The move comes after a series of very poor results from the team, including a 0-3 placing in the PGL Major Stockholm Legends Stage.
Following the departure of Ethan "Ethan" Arnold in January of 2021, Evil Geniuses never lived up to its past results of topping North America in 2020 or their international success in 2019. Even despite further roster changes including the addition of MICHU as well as swapping out Wilton "zews" Prado for former player Damian "daps" Steele as coach, the team continued to decline.
Evil Geniuses qualified as Legends to PGL Stockholm through what many would consider too easy a path, as the entirety of their wins during the 2021 North American RMR cycle include a best of one victory against 00Nation, some MR3 tiebreaker wins against TeamOne and Triumph, and then a best of three win against EXTREMUM.
The remaining two players, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov, are the longest standing members of the team, both spanning back to 2017 when they played under NRG under the leadership of current coach daps.
Going into the end of 2021, EG have the following lineup:
Damian "daps" Steele (coach)
