Heroic come back to secure upper semis spot; FaZe go down to the lower bracket

FaZe come out defeated after conceding a six-round lead on the second map.

Casper "cadiaN" Møller and co. remain in the upper bracket after a 2-0 victory over FaZe at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2021. The Danish team edged Mirage 16-14 early in the series before pulling a comeback on Nuke to complete the sweep. Martin "stavn" Lund and René "TeSeS" Madsen made the difference for their squad in an intense series.

Heroic will face the winner of Natus Vincere vs BIG tomorrow at 15:00 to claim the first spot in the upper bracket final while the losers will face each other in the first round of the lower bracket on Friday.

stavn performed consistently across both maps

FaZe's pick of Mirage saw Finn "karrigan" Andersen call some great rotations on the T side, often catching the B defenders off guard while his team converted several 2vX situations that seemed unwinnable for the offense. Despite facing an early deficit, Heroic maintained composure, consistently founding the early advantage to edge the half ahead 8-7 as TeSeS played a rock-solid defense.

The second half was equally as competitive with Ismail "refrezh" Ali coming alive on the T side, powering Heroic to match point before a jaw-dropping 1v3 clutch by Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken kept FaZe alive temporarily. The Danes avoided going into overtime, winning 16-14 after an anti-climactic 30th round.

Going into Heroic's Nuke the European squad faced an uphill battle to force the decider. A solid CT half from FaZe saw them convert their second force buy of the series to give them the early advantage as Twistzz made his mark in their 9-6 half. After moving to the T side karrigan's squad seemed to have taken control of the match, going up 13-7 but a failed 3v2 on round 21 turned the odds in favour of the Danes. Heroic went on an incredible nine-round winning streak to come back and steal Nuke 16-13, ending the series 2-0.

LMAO. But, seriously, ever since the start of the Legends stage at the major Faze look like a top 15 team at best. Having rain, olof, karrigan - players among who the average age is 29 - cannot last long and is a bit unreliable (they occasionally have massive performances but have way more "off" games). MOUZ feels like the obvious replacement with like ropz and maybe frozen since karrigan has worked with both of them and they achieved some success at the end of 2019/start of 2020.

Bymas might be a better replacement for rain considering his roles and adaptability

Everyone knows that Olof has simply been a stand-in while they try to find someone to replace him. He retired ages ago but keeps coming back to fill in for Faze.

I mean, both Karrigan and Twistzz said before IEM Cologne 2021 that Olof is going to be staying longer (they were insinuating that the roster will be permanent)

What’s with danish teams and the luckiest fucking wins constantly. Astralis 16-14’s vs liquid and heroic 16-14’s all the time too

Faze were playing like shit their T side on nuke and ct side on mirage, kinda deserved loss because they threw some ez rounds as always though
2021-11-24 21:39
ez pz for Xizt
2021-11-24 21:34
FaZe lost so many rounds to brokys dumbass repositions! Why does he think he's simple, allowed to roam and all? Heroic doesn't fear you, you should be cautious to obvious pushes and shit. You're a pretty readable follow the instructions player they know you wouldn't pull something outta your ass as s1mple does. Mans unpredictable that's also the reason he's feared and allowed to reposition!

I won't change your mind coz it speaks truth. I like broky's awping but his repositions on the map aren't on point. He is skilled but lacks experience. For example in that round on mirage as a ct underpass/mid, he got 3k with awp in a weird position, the fact that he was there with no ct support is a result of inexperience but the fact that he got 3k in a stressful situation was a reminder of his skill.

Skillful yes but decision making no. Yeah i agree, but against trading teams he'll never be allowed to do that such as Na'Vi, Gambit and Astralis.

Exactly. Trading teams would destroy his playstyle
