Copenhagen Flames close to transfer to Complexity - Report

Multiple reports point to advanced talks between Copenhagen Flames and Complexity regarding the transfer of the Danish roster.

Copenhagen Flames are close to finalizing a transfer of their entire CS:GO roster to Complexity, according to reports by Esport Fire and Jaxon.

Both outlets outlined that the lineup led by Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen was approached by multiple parties following PGL Major Stockholm and that Complexity are the top candidate to buy the roster out of their contracts with the Danish organization.

Jaxon noted that the players are in the process of negotiating their individual deals, information that HLTV.org can confirm and add that, according to our sources, that is what the transfer now mainly hinges on.

Copenhagen Flames could soon make a move to Complexity

Rumors of Copenhagen Flames' potential move to a different organization have been swirling ever since the team went on their surprising campaign at IEM Fall, where they topped a group featuring several big names in G2, BIG, and MOUZ, and went on to place seventh overall to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm.

At the Major, the team impressed even further with a flawless run through the Challengers stage and a competitive look in the Legends stage, which saw their fairytale-like story end on the back of a close loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas in the final round of the second Swiss stage.

After being ranked ninth following the conclusion of the Stockholm event, Copenhagen Flames have since dropped off to 14th place in HLTV.org's ranking as they have struggled to replicate their Major form in tournaments such as the Funspark ULTI Europe Regional Series 4 and Pinnacle Fall Series 3, losing matches to teams such as Savage, TTC, and BLINK.

The team has also since parted ways with their coach, Faruk "⁠pita⁠" Pita, who joined up with former teammates in Dignitas in late November as a replacement for Halvor "⁠vENdetta⁠" Gulestøl.

The following quintet is currently contracted to Copenhagen Flames:

Their post major form has been sketchy but then again with all the contract talk their head is not entirely on the game. As for the org, COL/ Jason lake is a hell of an owner but they won´t have access to their amazing texas facility so maybe they´ll have an office in EU? As for the coach it´s probably gonna be a dane (a tactical coach as Hooxi likes to dictate the squad/strats) even if an international coach might have done them good. GL Danish underdogs and all hail the new Juggernaut (hopefully this one doesnt´t crumble like the collosus)

This is just an idea and probably they will go to Vitality, but what about -jabbi -hooxi +magisk +dupreeh +Zonic as head coach and hooxi as assistant coach or analyist

Would be a shame to mess the dynamism of a "winning" formula. Stuff seems to have clicked for CPH so changes seem unwarranted. While this change may look good firepower-wise in the short term (clear upgrade) switching over Jabbi (their major best player) and Hooxi would require a big adapptation which would take a few months and defeat the purpose of the COL buy - Have a good team NOW While a good idea in theory, it´s quite risky for all parties involved and carries substancial risk that i doubt COL want to take after their Juggernaut Fiasco. In a metaphor, COL just got rid of it´s Ferrari that initialy was awesome but for the last 2y kept having problems that went from simple fixes to a complete car rebuild. COL wants a good eficent car that will give him no problems and do it´s job. So while getting a Mclaren sounds cool as the sequel isn´t a better call to use an industructible/reliable (even if less impressive) Toyota Land Cruiser?

I hate to be that guy, but seriously. They are un-proven in T1 CS, with limited potential in the future. Reminds me few danish teams in past. To name one, mad lions at their peak. I would rather try to get one or two free agents or low buyout players and fill in some NA players (either young and upcoming or some "washed up" still decent players).

they had 2 half-bad events recently, while pita has been away. otherwise they've been playing very well for quite some time. even before the RMR and the Major, they did quite well even against T1 teams. 5-man core, you can replace 2 and still get a "free" major qualification, cheap deal for the roster. a very new roster that showed very quickly after formation, that they could show up against the best. coL can see the obvious good business in this deal. this is the low-risk best value for money roster right now. if coL is dumb, then you should be able to come up with a better roster for the same amount of money.
