m0NESY, Aunkere, fear transfer-listed in NAVI Junior

The organization announced the start of a fresh development cycle and confirmed that Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov is negotiating a move to a new team.

NAVI Junior will have a new look in 2022 as the team's core has been put up for transfer and just one member, Daniil "⁠headtr1ck⁠" Valitov, remains on the roster.

The development cycle of m0NESY, Eugene "⁠Aunkere⁠" Karyat, and Rodion "⁠fear⁠" Smyk has been completed, coach Amiran "⁠aMi⁠" Rehviashvili explains, and it is time for new players from NAVI Youth to take their place. The new NAVI Junior lineup will be revealed later this month.

NAVI confirmed m0NESY is already negotiating a move

"In two years, all NAVI Junior players have grown immensely. Not only in terms of play, but also on a personal level," aMi said in a statement to NAVI's website.

"We have created a system that allows us to educate players in the format we need, but it has its cycle. It is the second generation of juniors who have gone through our academy. We have managed to raise aspiring players and future champions, who are prepared in all aspects and are loyal to the organization."

m0NESY: "I'm sure that I'm ready for tier 1"

In the announcement, Natus Vincere disclosed that m0NESY is in talks about his future. That was first reported by 1PV.fr and Dexerto, while CIS insider Alexey "⁠OverDrive⁠" Birukov named G2 and Liquid as the two organizations most interested in the 16-year-old AWPer.

Well main team has only capacity of 5 if they do not need any change in the upcoming year or two why would they keep in navi junior players that are ready for t1 that would be unfair and honestly why would the players want to wait. They invested in them now they promote whoever they need like they did with b1t and rest who's ready they sell to make profit and take another one's. Put time and afford and after that again take whatever is necessary and sell the rest.

In football/soccer orgs, the revenue from sponsorships, merchandise and tournaments mainly finance ongoing costs, and player sales are the primary source of returns to the company. Young talents are among the most profitable, because the pass didn't have to be bought to begin with, and it's pretty common for academy players to find their space in teams other than the original org. I would imagine the same applies to CS orgs as well.

There are benefits of keeping academy team even if you have no plans of promoting someone to your main team. 1. Always available training partner. Especially if you want to try some really epic new stuff for the biggest tournaments and fear those leaking out. 2. Always available subs and standins in the time of need. 3. Trying out new more fundamental changes to strats that you don't want to try with your main team 4. For a smaller countries, it is really beneficial to help young player learn fundamental cs for the sake on longevity of said countries cs. Sweden for example. 5. Pretty cheap publicity These from the top of my head. It of course varies somewhat between teams.

If the org don’t let them leave when the org can’t give them chances to promote them for tier 1 game, no talent is willing to join them. Navi is sending a message to every CIS talent: you can join us to improve yourself, if we can’t provide you the opportunity, we won’t stand in your way on your development too. That benefit is far more than just keep training partners.

that would inevitably change since MaLeK is no longer in the roster and nexa will not be IGLing anymore. It's evident G2 are going for a complete system overhaul. And there's no better system in the current meta than the one with a "STAR" AWPer

not when you have NiKo in the team, karrigan built FaZe around NiKo, not around GuardiaN, only a fool would not do the same. But GuardiaN was not used as a fucking utility belt, he had the freedom to do his thing which is necessary for an AWPer to have impact. Yes Kenny was not on point individually as well, but the playstyle they forced upon him really destroyed every impact he could have had and it would have done the same to almost every other AWPer out there. s1mple is the only star AWPer who plays a similar style but noone else would be able to pull that off like him.

Can't compare the two situations. s1mple had proven way more before Liquid signed him. m0nesy is unproven in Tier1, literally hasn't even played once against a Tier1 team or in Tier1 events. The risk is much higher here.

What I meant is, s1mple carried Hellraisers to Major Playoffs in literally his 1st major (16 years old), and rekt many Top teams single-handedly while he was on Flipsid3 (example: NiP). He had proven his skill against the best teams. What is the toughest opponent m0nesy has played against? MOUZ Nxt? How did that go? That is what I meant by "higher risk". Ofc it can pay off.

All I'm saying is, at that time, s1mple was known to be toxic as hell and didn't even speak english that well. So when Liquid signed him, it was also a huge gamble on their part. G2 needs a primary AWPer desperately but monesy isn't the fix. Comms with them are already in trouble. adding a 3rd language speaker to the mix is only going to complicate it. Going to NA might not be bad with Liquid though if he's going to be speaking english anyways. Might help him practice, can maybe join an international team with some more practice with the language

Both m0NESY and Aunkere will get some nice offers I believe, they are one of the most promising talents in CIS currently, however I feel like they should've kept fear, I don't think he is ready for higher level of competition and I don't think he will get many interesting offers if any. Still great job, this NAVI academy program is something that more teams should be doing, it's clearly paying dividence for them, GJ. GL in the next "season".
