NIP to field phzy instead of device at IEM Winter
The Danish AWPer will miss out on the playoff action due to health issues.
NIP have announced that Nicolai "device" Reedtz will not be participating in the team's final games at IEM Winter, with academy sniper Love "phzy" Smidebrant set to take his place in the semi-final bout against G2.
The organization revealed that device "has been feeling unwell for the past day and has been advised by the doctor to rest and recover," adding that he tested negative for COVID-19 but will nonetheless be given time to rest.

Playing without device comes as a big hit for NIP, as the sniper posted the third-highest rating at the event so far, 1.27, while playing significantly more maps than Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Dzhami "Jame" Ali who sit on 1.31 and 1.35 respectively.
The Swedish team will be hoping device will be back in time for their final tournament of the year, the BLAST Premier World Finals, which kicks off just two days after the conclusion of IEM Winter.

In the meantime, 19-year-old phzy will have big shoes to fill, getting a call up from the academy team where he averaged a 1.11 rating across the past three months. However, he faced no top 20 opposition in that time, with a match against NiKo and co. set to welcome him to the top tier of Counter-Strike.
NIP's lineup for the clash with G2 on Saturday:
Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora
Hampus "hampus" Poser
Love "phzy" Smidebrant
Patrick "es3tag" Hansen
Björn "THREAT" Pers (coach)
