nitr0 makes CS:GO return with Liquid
Liquid have announced Nick "nitr0" Cannella as the final member of their 2022 roster, officially marking the 26-year-old's return to CS:GO after he spent the past 16 months plying his trade for 100 Thieves in VALORANT.
The move confirms a November report from 1pv.fr that indicated nitr0's return to Liquid was close to being finalized. He was a part of their CS:GO roster for five years before moving to VALORANT, initially playing as a rifler before becoming an in-game leader and picking up the AWP.
He rounds out the Liquid roster rebuild that kicked off following the end of the tournament season, which has featured the addition of Richard "shox" Papillon and Josh "oSee" Ohm and the retention of NAF and EliGE. As a part of Liquid alongside the latter pair of players, nitr0 won nine titles, including Season 2 of the Intel Grand Slam.
Despite a dismal period of form in his final months on the team, the 26-year-old proved to be a key part of Liquid's success, and the team have been unable to secure any big tournament victories since his departure. He returns ahead of the 2022 tournament season, where he will return to rifling as Liquid look to oSee to pick up primary sniping duties.
Liquid now have:
