G2 unveil m0NESY signing
The long-rumored move of Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov to G2 has finally been confirmed ahead of the start of the 2022 season.
G2 CEO Carlos "ocelote" Rodriguez Santiago has announced the completion of the transfer of 16-year-old prodigy and ex-NAVI Junior star m0NESY. Although G2 have yet to comment on the future of the rest of the roster, the Russian youngster is expected to replace François "AMANEK" Delaunay, marking an end to the Frenchman's three-year tenure with the team.
The addition of m0NESY comes as little to no surprise after several reports came out over the past month about the status of the big move between NAVI and G2, who reportedly couldn't come to terms regarding the transfer of the AWPer at first before a deal was finally struck in early December.

Other reports also linked G2 with interest in Robin "ropz" Kool as well as Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen. It appears that m0NESY's addition could remain the only player change inside the G2 camp ahead of the 2022 season, after all, as the former MOUZ star is believed to have sided with FaZe instead, while there have been no updates on the talks over the Finnish in-game leader in nearly two weeks.
G2 is also expected to announce the signing of former Vitality coach Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam following the departure of Evil Geniuses-bound Damien "maLeK" Marcel.
The addition of an AWPer with world-class potential should come as a big boost to the team who have been missing a star player in the position, with AMANEK taking on those duties most recently and not finding much consistency in the role.

With m0NESY, G2 will be hoping to break the championship curse that has haunted them for over two years. The organization secured their last CS:GO title at the Champions Cup Finals in late 2019, not long after the organization decided to step away from a French-speaking roster with the additions of Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač and Nemanja "nexa" Isaković.
Even the arrival of superstar Nikola "NiKo" Kovač in 2020 did little to turn G2's fortunes, as the team continued to miss out on trophies despite looking extremely competitive at times last year, most notably placing second at IEM Cologne and at the PGL Major Stockholm and falling to the dominant Natus Vincere squad each time in the title decider.
G2's roster boasts the following players:
François "AMANEK" Delaunay
Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač
Nemanja "nexa" Isaković
Audric "JACKZ" Jug
Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
