MOUZ promote torzsi to main team

acoR has been removed from the starting lineup, leaving the Hungarian player in charge of the AWP.

MOUZ have announced that Ádám "⁠torzsi⁠" Torzsás will be taking over sniping duties for the team moving forward and have put Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand on the bench.

The 19-year-old has been rumored to be a possible candidate to take over the AWP role in the international squad after a lackluster year for acoR, who had shown much promise in MAD Lions before transferring to the German organization but was unable to find the same form while under the orders of Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong.

The Hungarian AWPer got the call-up after six months in MOUZ NXT, where he was a back-to-back WePlay Academy League champion and accrued a 1.24 rating with his time in the academy squad. Before that torzsi had already started to turn heads in Hungarian teams, most notably in Budapest Five and Salamander.

The change comes amid a restructuring in the international squad who said goodbye to longtime star player Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool, who is reportedly on his way to FaZe, right before parting ways with coach Torbjørn "⁠mithR⁠" Nyborg at the end of 2021.

One more spot remains to be filled in the starting lineup after this one for one swap, with Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt reportedly in advanced talks with the German organization. Longtime MOUZ member Chris "⁠chrisJ⁠" de Jong is still on the team's books, but is not expected to be put back on the team's active roster from the bench.

I don't think MOUZ has the balls to promote their academy roster. It worked for Gambit because everybody sucked in the main team and that was a patch decision. It turns out that it worked. I don't see this happening to MOUZ.

NiKo isn't a hard entry, he roams around the map and gets picks wherever he can find them. A dedicated entry fragger is the guy who runs first to the site in an execute and gets traded

Yeah that could definitely be the case, though I think the way Striker phrased it kinda makes it sound like he's just speculating. If he has a source then surely he'd know for sure whether Aleksi is joining and he wouldn't need to justify the take by saying that it's been 2 weeks since the last Aleksib report. Them again it has also been 2 weeks since the last XTQZZZ report so maybe he does have a source on it, who knows

Completely agree to little too late, retaining ropz was paramount to their success. I do think dexter just isn’t that good as an igl. There’s hardly any chemistry and all throughout the year the team looked disjointed. That’s not fixable without him going. Basically should rebuild entire roster around bymas / frozen / torszi

Mouz has a record for promoting players from lesser known regions, nurturing them to become a star. For an org that doesn't have the financial background like the top orgs I think it makes a lot of sense for them to scout players in regions where there isn't that much interest in. Sure, Hungary doesn't have such a great CS infrastructure as Nordic countries do but there still can be a diamond in the rough.

the universe is cyclical and eternally repeating, however i retained my memories on the last reset. being the flagship player for hungary, torzsi really brings the country to prominence. first all hungarian team enters the top 5 in the winter of 2024, followed by their first major win in winter of 2025. it has taken eons, but they will be back at the top comparatively soon again

Let's see. I think he might be solid. A lot depends on coach and dexter which is something i am not thrilled about to be honest. They need one more strong player or they don't stand a chance vs teams like faze, G2, gambit or so. Even then it will be very hard when we compare firepower. Mouz never wants to outbid any bigger orgs like Faze for their own big name players, they’d always prefer to let them go and try new or free talent so if you think they’re going to buyout players from other teams you’re out of your mind.
