tarik departs Evil Geniuses
The American is out of the organization following eight months on the bench.
Evil Geniuses have announced that Tarik "tarik" Celik is no longer a part of the organization, bringing to an end the cooperation that lasted over two years. The 25-year-old player joined Evil Geniuses in 2019 when the former NRG lineup was acquired and won five titles with the squad before stepping down in April of 2021.

tarik's journey with Evil Geniuses started with a bang as the North American lineup lifted the ESL One New York 2019 trophy on home soil before going to win StarSeries i-League Season 8 a month later, reaching the No. 1 spot in the world ranking off the back of it.
The team's form dropped off in the first half of 2020 only for a resurgence to follow in the summer as they won the North American BLAST Premier Spring, cs_summit 6, and ESL One Cologne tournaments during the online era.
The struggles that followed for Evil Geniuses and tarik were hard to foresee, the once-elite team dropped out of the top 10 by the start of 2021 and chained early tournament exits that led to tarik's departure in April.
While the "Content King" focused on streaming for the past eight months, the team continued to underperform, leading to a massive overhaul that has started with the signing of former G2 tactician Damien "maLeK" Marcel as the new head coach.
