Aleksib and nexa swap agreed - Report

G2 and OG are set to trade their in-game leaders ahead of the 2022 season start according to the latest reports.

Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen will take over the helm of G2 while Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković moves to OG as a deal has been reached between the two organizations, 1pv.fr and Dexerto have reported on Wednesday.

The move is expected to be the final piece for G2's 2022 roster puzzle, as the Finnish in-game leader will join fresh signings Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov and yet-to-be-unveiled former Vitality coach Rémy "⁠XTQZZZ⁠" Quoniam as a part of a large overhaul.

G2 will be hoping that their activity on the transfer market will translate to success on the server, seeing that the team's last Big event trophy dates back to 2017. But the significant overhaul that has been done of the winter break, bringing in a new coach, in-game leader, and AWPer, will surely require a significant adaptation period.

On the other hand, nexa's departure from G2 will end his two-year cooperation with the Berlin-based organization, and see the 24-year-old part ways with Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač after more than three years spent together. His new challenge will be to reform an underperforming OG squad, ranked 17th in the world, who could also be losing one of their key players in Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså.

Aleksib has said to at least finnish outlets that he didn't have a super tight system in ENCE but one built on solid communication. That is why they were able to stay in the top 5 for such a long time, not as much the system, that is what he said about it in a interview with a finnish news outlet. Now I don't know if he can build such good communication based success in a non-native language so he might do things differently due to the communication question and from the bits of teamspeak we've been able to hear in his time in OG he seems like he might be more controlling in that system than the one in ENCE.

Nexa is average at best at IGLing, and certainly subpar when it comes to T1 IGLing. He used to compensate that by being a great fragger with close to blameF stats (1.15-1.18ish ratings) but now je has been in a slump for a year+ so nothing justifies him staying in G2.

Aleksib is the best IGL for youngsters. Sergej is a great example. Sergej 13th best player in 2019 and after Aleksib was kicked from ENCE Sergej fell down to tier 3.

The thing is there are some AWPers in that 2013 ranking: kennyS, GuardiaN, Nico, JW, markeloff, pasha, but they are only dedicated to AWP The best players were riflers (GTR, f0rest, shox) And nowadays you have ZywOo and s1mple, players that are both gods with any weapon they can get, so if you have s1mple in your team, you dont need another AWPer who is only dedicated to AWP. NaVi tried to combine s1mple and GuardiaN a couple years ago, but it didnt work cuz s1mple could do everything and GuardiaN was quite useless. I hope you know what Im talking about

Ehh I like it, I think both guys are on similar levels but this swap will re-vamp both teams. If I’m OG I would have used the leverage of G2 wanting AleksiB to get Amanek too. Assuming Valde leaves for EG he would be one of the best replacements available. He has experience playing under Nexa and he wouldn’t be forced to AWP (but would be a solid secondary).

Honestly niko has just not looked that good at all, he has some flashes but isn't consistent. This will be do or die for Aleksib, either he will become a top-tier IGL or he will drop off the charts if he won't make G2 perform any better than before with now also m0nesy on the team and XQTZZ as coach. Pretty huge pressure is put on him. Hope he can handle it. I'd rather see they stick with Amanek as support though, with Aleksib in the team I think the roles would play much better like that than with Jackz, Aleksib needs a proper support player. xseven showed this when he was in ENCE.

Imo aleksib is decent igl, but not great. First of all in ENCE they spoke finnish, secondly Twista and allu helped him to form the strats. And thirdly calling is way harder if you are calling in english. Also igl might lose a word he starts to stutter and it might confuse others with their communication.

honestly this is a great move for aleksib no matter what you naysayers believe. og was a great career move then, but honestly looking back there wasn't a single star player in og since the beginning. everybody else other than aleksib was basically a reject of some other team. maybe g2 with aleksi will be even better. i've played csgo long enough that i've seen teams come at us with many strats, they make perfect smokes and they fake stuff, guess what we do? we just shoot harder and we win the match. its like having a cheap car try to win a race against a sports car. its not gonna happen no matter how good the driver is.* niko & hunter are basically sports car in this analogy.

please, blade has sat on navi for like 4 years and now that he has gotten some amazing talent together they are winning. i saw some of what navi cooked up in the kitchen. wait until 0:35 left in the clock, because your star players aren't just finding the kills. that's a picturesque "navi" strat. they are not strat heavy at all. having four players on your teams who win more than half their duels is not being strat heavy, that's just individual skill. i could use a certain qualifier as a silly comparison: og beat navi twice in the same blast qualifier. even then navi was just the better team on paper, much better individuals and i believe the only different player on navi roster was b1t at the time.

you cannot compare stats so easily because rating does not tells the whole story, nor do other things. Because to have higher stats your team has to win more. G2 won more and it's that simple. Navi won even more, main reason why boombl4 has such high stats. I mean, barely average but that's him, we can all agree that he is not a good player and these stats are "inflated" because of so much winning. Player stats for CSGO should be taken with a grain of salt, a big one. Simple example, multikills are a solid part of the rating. And statistically multikills are rare, most players don't get many, some get a few in a BO3. But because of such rarity, if your team wins more and you get to play more matches - you have a higher chance of scoring that multikill. I know it's not ONLY down to odds but you get the picture.
