Sprout round out roster with 18-year-old Luxembourger Marix
Sprout have once again moved away from a German core with the addition of their final player.
Sprout have completed the signing of 18-year-old Luxembourg player Max "Marix" Kugener, it has been announced. The newest addition is the last piece of the German organization's new international roster, which recently also added another young up-and-comer in Victor "Staehr" Staehr.
Marix comes from a background in both the Benelux region, where he competed under the LowLandLions and Defusekids banners in 2020, and Germany, having last been seen playing with CCO and placing third at the UNITED Pro Series Finals alongside Denis "denis" Howell in November.
He comes in as one of two replacements for Josef "faveN" Baumann and Kamil "KEi" Pietkun, who left the team late last year after the former was transferred to BIG and the latter decided to return to the Polish scene ahead of the new season.
Describing it as a big step, the Luxembourger has moved to Germany to help Sprout maintain a spot in local leagues, which require teams to have a core of three players living in the country.
"For many people, me joining Sprout is an unexpected move, but I'm happy to be given this chance," Marix said. "This is a great chance to prove that young talents are the future. This is also a big step for me in terms of my personal life, since I have moved to Germany, so we can continue to compete in German leagues."
"He's probably the most outstanding talent in the German scene right now," one of Marix's new teammates, Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich, said about teaming up with the 18-year-old. "I'm sure he will prove it to everyone very soon that he deserves this big chance."
Sprout's new roster heading into the 2022 season is:
