ATK import b0denmaster, truth to complete roster

The Scandinavian duo will travel to Monterrey, Mexico to play for the South African organization.

ATK have finalized their roster with the surprise additions of Jonathan "⁠b0denmaster⁠" Bodenmalm and Erik "⁠truth⁠" Hansen Dyrnes, with the European pair joining the team's roster ahead of the start of ESL Challenger League Season 40.

b0denmaster and truth join the team as replacements for Marshall "⁠Minus⁠" Sedowicz and Wiljahne "⁠mango⁠" Smith, with the former player departing the team in December to link up with Damian "⁠daps⁠" Steele and the latter taking a leave to mentally reset.

ATK's coach Daniel "⁠sprayxd⁠" Kogan explained to HLTV.org that the team had trialed a number of North American players last year prior to adding Minus, and none had seemed a suitable fit for what the team was trying to accomplish.

Once ATK again had to search for new members, they chose to expand their search to Europe for talent, with sprayxd learning that b0denmaster would not be continuing forth with Lilmix after the new year. This was a pickup that the Israeli coach considered a no-brainer, with b0denmaster averaging a 1.06 rating over the course of 2021.

truth and sprayxd shared a connection from their time together on Vexed, and with the Norwegian being open to a move to Mexico with the team and him being a known quantity to sprayxd, he was selected as their final member.

ATK have struggled to surpass other sub-top North American squads during their time in the region, with many of their tournament runs being cut short in 5-8th place or earlier.

Heading into 2022, the team hopes that the addition of European talent will help them to overcome that hurdle and begin taking titles, as well as put on a more competitive face in ESL Challenger League.
