EG complete roster with RUSH

The 27-year-old rifler has finally found a new home after being out of action since July of last year.

Evil Geniuses have announced the addition of William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba, confirming a move that has been rumoured since the start of the year. He joins alongside Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip and Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta, who were announced in the previous few days, to complete Evil Geniuses' off-season rebuild.

The move comes as no surprise, considering reports emerged in early January that the one-time Major winner was being targeted as an alternative to Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså after Evil Geniuses' negotiations with the Dane broke down. His signing completes the reunification of the Cloud9 major-winning core four years after they won the ELEAGUE Major 2018.

RUSH reunites with the core he won a Major with

Most recently RUSH had been plying his trade for Complexity, the team he joined in late-2019 to form part of their 'Juggernaut' roster alongisde Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer. That project never quite lived up to the dramatic billing, and he was benched in July of 2021 after the team exited IEM Cologne in 13-16th place.

The new-look Evil Geniuses roster will make their debut at BLAST Premier Spring Groups later this month, kicking off their campaign against Vitality on January 30.

Following this signing, the Evil Geniuses roster is now:

To be absolutely honest here, I think people are writing them off too easily. The stew, auti, rush trio worked very well together in C9, if they can somehow get the other two to start playing again instead of looking depressed they might actually be a pretty good team. Not #1 material, but solid enough to make some deep playoff runs.

there are some talented players in NA but most of them have little experience playing internationally, especially after covid and valorant. Rush is a safe pick and his roles seem to line up well in this roster.

Dissapointing signing tbh., this guy is way past his prime, it would be ok to have him as a support in a team that already has great firepower, but do EG really have that? CeRq has been incredibly underwhelming, Brehze dropped of aswell, although he is still an ok player it feels like, I'm really happy for autimatic to comeback, I think he can still be one of the best NA players, but I doubt he can really be the star, I would say he should be more of a support or gap filler rather than a star tbh., and Stewie2K was really poor in Liquid, I'm really dissapointed by this lineup and I think it's going to be the same thing as with the last one, I don't really see them competing with Tier1.
