rigoN, SENER1 part ways with BLINK

The departing players could not come to terms with the organization to renew their contracts.

Unexpected news came out of the BLINK camp on Friday as Rigon "⁠rigoN⁠" Gashi and Sener "⁠SENER1⁠" Mahmuti announced they will no longer be playing with the Kosovar team despite their recent success.

The squad's core was formed in April of 2021, built around the former Secret duo of Flatron "⁠juanflatroo⁠" Halimi and Dionis "⁠sinnopsyy⁠" Budeci alongside BLINK players SENER1 and Genc "⁠gxx-⁠" Kolgeci, but it was when rigoN joined that the team really took off, climbing all the way to 23rd place in the world ranking.

The parting of ways between players and organization stems from a breakdown in negotiations regarding contract renewals, which ended up with the duo leaving the team despite wanting to continue to play with the remaining trio under coach Klesti "⁠stikle-⁠" Kola, who are still under contract with BLINK in year-long deals that are expiring in the first quarter of 2022.

"We had a great time together, amazing results, I was looking forward to continuing our journey and reaching our goals," rigoN wrote in his parting announcement, "however my contract has not been extended and I am looking for other opportunities."

The same message was sent out by former teammate SENER1, but the parting duo would be open to a reunion with their former teammates if everybody is free when the remaining BLINK players' contracts expire in the coming months should they not pen renewals. "I would love to play with them in the future," rigoN told HLTV.

One point of contention between parties that could emerge is what would happen to the spots earned by this team, as both the organization and the players will hope to retain the fruits of what they gained together should the remaining members end up leaving the structure in the coming months.

I don't know what happened with this Organization also removing their best player from the team is shocking.

Real shame, these guys were putting Albania on the map and were punching above their weight.. hope they reunite quickly otherwise they'll be basically starting from scratch again

Yeah, they're like 24 in rankings, It doesn't make sense to remove players like rigoN, I can understand SENER1 but rigoN? Hell no.

They had no problems inside the team, the org is just poor af so they didn't wanna extend.

Just poor af Avg salary in Kosovo is like 300 euros so it's expected + running an esports org isn't profitable at all unless u have sponsors that the multimillion orgs have, I wonder how much these players were earning in the first place Their best hope is to disband and find another org but I doubt they will do that

It is not about being poor. It is about being braindead. Imagine an org that spent tons of money for taking the team to holidays, big chilling events etc. then not accepting a higher salary request. This is my opinion but, still can be something else in the background. Agree with the last thing you said. Their best and last hope is that.

imagine, these guys are the best 5 albanian cs players and the albanian org probably does not want to pay more and this leads them to leave. Rip Albanian cs. Never gonna achieve more than last peek.

Tbh people have to understand the Albanian org aswell. I mean yes they should be paid more but they are very well compensated with monthly salaries way above average of other jobs in the country + bonuses in tournament prizes

Still this is a huge L for the org. They had the chance, a big one to grind towards top10 and even get more tournament prizes etc. they lost the chance and now Blink will drop from top30 and never gonna see it again.

so kosovo and albanian are the same ppl (speak same language, same trandition etc) but are two separate countries, as we speak, kosovo flag wasnt on hltv before, so albanians from kosovo always chose to be represented with albanian flag, but since now kosovo has its own flag on hltv, everyone is putting kosovo flag, long story short kosovo=albania
