Eternal Fire bench Calyx, duggyversus to step in

The 23-year-old expects to return once personal issues are resolved.

Buğra "⁠Calyx⁠" Arkın has been moved to Eternal Fire's bench due to personal reasons, the organization announced on Saturday. To fill the gap left by the 23-year old rifler, the Turkish squad promoted Emre "⁠duggyversus⁠" Oktay from the academy team on a trial basis.

The news comes during Eternal Fire's Elisa Invitational Winter 2021 Main Qualifier campaign, where the team currently sits with a 1-0 record following their opening 2-0 victory over Lynn Vision.

Calyx has taken a step back from Eternal Fire

duggyversus joined Eternal Fire Academy last December and has so far only competed at WePlay Academy League Season 3 with Eternal Fire's youth squad, where the team finished in 7-8th place. The 18-year-old currently displays a 1.00 rating, the joint highest in the academy side alongside Tolga "⁠Kenshin⁠" Onalan.

Calyx became a founding member of Eternal Fire when the team came together in August of 2021. Since then, the Turkish squad has only been able to claim a couple of regional events, ESA Supremes Vestel Cup 2021 and ESL Turkey Championship Summer 2021, and are yet to reach top-flight success.

"Due to on going problems in my life I step back from the main squad to the bench," Calyx stated on Twitter. " I’ll be back very soon."

kenshin is IGL + AWPer, they don't need an awper and seems like woxic is fine with IGLing. Duggy isn't the best fit role wise as well but at least he is a rifler, sometimes he plays like Calyx expecially on inferno ct side

I wouldn't say that his comeback to the squad is really sure, he really underperformed lately. I think EF just needs a good IGL, and they can be a really good team, if they would replace Calyx with experienced IGL I would be really happy. duggyversus seems like a decent player but not really what they need imo. GL tho!

Maybe it's worth to take a European one then? XANTARES and woxic don't have problems with English, imoRR has played a lot of FPL so I guess that isn't much of a problem for him either, and xfl0ud also played for GORILLAZ who were speaking English.
