Case sign new roster headed up by steel

The former Movistar Riders member once again links up with a Brazilian lineup, forming a new roster surrounded by a number of familiar names.

Case have announced the signing of a new quintet of players, returning to CS:GO after last housing a team in July 2021. The organization's new roster is headlined by former Movistar Riders, Luminosity, and Immortals member Lucas "⁠steel⁠" Lopes, who will take on leadership duties surrounded by upcoming talent.

Included among the new signings is Lucas "⁠honda⁠" Cano, who had the opportunity to get tier one experience when standing-in for FURIA's main roster at various points in 2021, and previously played for the organization's academy team.

Rodrigo "⁠RCF⁠" Figueiredo, known for his recent stints in North America as a part of Yeah and High Coast as well as time on Sharks in 2017, joins the lineup as the primary AWPer alongside Arthur "⁠f4stzin⁠" Schmitt, with both players spending recent months playing for Asterys and previously having played together on Yeah.

The roster is rounded out by a single player from Case's former roster, Yan "⁠yepz⁠" Pedretti, who returns to the fold to complete the team's lineup for 2022. All of the players have completed a move to Madrid, Spain, where they will play from the organization's offices while living in a team house.

"Being a completely Brazilian roster is very important for me and the club," Carlos Henrique Casimiro, Brazilian football player for Real Madrid and CEO of Case, said of the team's signing in a press release. "It is to remember where we come from and what our origins are. Brazilian CS:GO has always been a world power and we are very excited to continue betting on it.

"Betting on young talent is always a priority, especially in esports. Brazil has a lot of young talent and we do not want to waste it, but as in all projects, there must be some veteran to guide the promises."

Imagine doing 2 aces within the first 3 rounds of the map and ending the map on only 18 kills, the second ace was just a mp9 eco cleanup. He ended the series with 0.88 k/d and the lowest ADR in his team. The guy barely runs over 1 KD in academy matches. Not Impressed.

steel is a good igl that i love that has historically made most of his teams alright (that being said there were some flops with this sort of BR lineup aka LG 2018-2019) h0nda showed some good stuff but his performance in both Furia / Furia ACA was underwhelming. He´s not a bad player but he makes a lot of stupid/bad plays which often backfired. RCF is just a pretty damm good player that had a rocky career path. The other two guys f4stzin/yepz are the definition of meh rifflers (think pesadelo, showtime, caike). Having two support players can work if you have 3 clear carrys but i doubt steel/h0nda can carry these guys. I wish nothing but the best to them. RCF/steel are players i like but i doubt this results will come without nothing but roster changes.

I completely agree. I think the criticism about f4stzin and yepz is precisely the need for a player that is more decisive, a player with many kills. And think if case want to fight for the tier 2-3 EU (like a MRS with steel), need to make changes to at least one of these two players. It will be interesting to follow. Abraços!!

+1 And steel is definitely the most likeable guy from Brazil. He always sounded so confident, yet smart and his calls weren't bad. He also has a ton of experience, since he played in the Tier 2 since 2016. I have no idea why no Brazillian teams wanted to pick him up until now.

steel gets another chance? I'm really surprised by that, this guys last good performance was on Immortals. I love how honda just basically gets to this team because of 2 aces vs G2 I believe, he was never good in FURIA nor FURIA Academy really, those 2 rounds probably made his career lol. RCF seems like a decent AWPer, but not anything special, I doubt he can be the star of the team really, I think he is just a solid piece but nothing above that, f4stzin is just a pretty bad player, he never really showed anything above average. yepz was totally trash in their last roster, I have no idea why they're giving him another chance, but this team is insanely dissapoiting, I actually thought that they can get a decent team, but this is just a joke, it's probably worse than the previous one tbh.
