Vitality cruise past MIBR
This result sets up a mouth-watering clash between Vitality and G2 in round 3, which will take place Saturday at 13:00 . Their loss sends MIBR to the Last Chance stage, where they will await the loser of the aforementioned game between Vitality and G2.
"I think we have taken maybe 75% of their playbook and then added 25% of Astralis to that. Obviously it is all about the in-game leader as well, apEX is a different IGL than gla1ve was, and the philosophy and how they see the game and how to approach it is obviously different, so it's also kind of a new playstyle that we have to get in to. It will take time to shape it the way we want to, it's been fun so far, but there have also been some complications that we need to leave behind from Astralis."
The series opened on Dust2, which was the pick of the Brazilians. MIBR started on the T side and started poorly, losing the pistol and falling to a 1-7 deficit, both the faster paced pushes and slower defaults getting picked apart by Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut.
The Brazilians won their CT pistol and converted the next few rounds to get to a 10-9 lead before Vitality got rolling on their offense; once they did the Frenchmen didn't look back, winning seven rounds on the bounce to take the first map comfortably.
Vitality's pick was Inferno, and the Frenchmen set about justifying their pick right from the off. Starting on the T side the boys in black and yellow immediately displayed the gulf in pedigree between the teams, finding success on both bombsites and rarely failing to get the bomb down.
After winning the pistol and converting to put themselves on 13 the second half was never in doubt for Vitality, and they quickly closed out the map 16-5. As per usual ZywOo topped the scoreboard for Vitality, whilst it was brnz4n who was putting up the best resistance for the Brazilians.
